We tried so many unique foods and wines in addition to learning more about the history and daily life in Venice. We highly recommend this tour, especially at the beginning of your trip to help acclimate you to what you should look for during your stay.
Denys was wonderful. He took us to numerous places, food was delicious, drinks were plentiful, and he kept everything interesting and fun!
We joined this food tour in Venice on 1 April, hoping for an authentic, behind-the-scenes culinary experience. While our guide was kind and reasonably knowledgeable, the tour overall didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The first two stops had a nice mix of local flavour and historical context, but starting with seafood may not suit everyone. After that, the experience felt a bit disjointed – lots of walking with limited commentary, and the lunch stop was underwhelming. The lasagne lacked flavour and quality, which was disappointing. The gelato came from a chain we later saw multiple times around the city, and while the tiramisù demonstration was interesting, we enjoyed better versions elsewhere during our stay. We were hoping for something more immersive, with exceptional food from small, authentic, family-run spots. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but it didn’t quite deliver the depth or quality we’ve come to appreciate from food tours in other destinations. Hopefully, some small tweaks could make this a more memorable and meaningful experience in future.
Good experience with the restaurant nice time with my friends food was good and staff was very friendly recommended to go
An excellent informative tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and had time to answer all our questions. We were take to some lovely authentic cafes and bars that we would not have found on our won and had time to purchase drinks along the way that were not included. Great friendly small group international people to chat to which was nice, highly recommended.
Julia was delightful and informative. We enjoyed her insights into Venetian food and wine culture and she also shared lots of other interesting tidbits. We would recommend this tour to friends
less than stellar. guide was walking too fast and got lost in the crowds a few times. not much hx or information. disappointing
Actually, I need to say that the described tour was cancelled; I ended up taking the “food tour”, 2.5 hrs I am glad it was switched; it was perfect. Ans was very knowledgeable, passionate and very funny. Being still jet lagged, I think the other tour would have been a bit long Great tour if you want to experience and learn about Venitian typical food Loved it
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the tour included many stops for food and wine to keep you full and happy. :)
Must do at the beginning of the stay. Guide Julia gives plenty of tips to experience real Venetian cuisine and not end up in tourist traps. It gives a lot of cultural and culinary information.
