I visited Retiro Park during my trip to Madrid in July 2025, and it was a great place to slow down after exploring the city's busy attractions. The park is free to enter and much larger than I expected, with plenty of shaded paths, gardens, and open spaces to enjoy. One of my favorite areas was the large pond near the monument, where people were rowing boats and relaxing by the water. It created a lively but peaceful atmosphere and made for some great photos. I also stayed until the evening and was rewarded with beautiful views of the city as the lights started to come on. If you're visiting in summer, bringing water and taking breaks in the shade is a good idea. I ended up spending nearly three hours here without realizing it.
A dream park. I celebrated my 50th birthday with a boat ride (€6). We returned the next day and rented a 4-seat electric pedal go-kart (€30 for 1 hour). Beautiful
Beautiful park experience! Definitely recommend the tour !our guide was knowleageable but lacked a bit of experience in my opinion.
Lovely tour of the park with great information of the history of Madrid and the park. The guide was very knowledgeable and it made for a lovely morning in Madrid.
The park is beautiful, definitely recommend coming here but be careful which tour guide you get, ours was slow and very unenthusiastic, also didn’t have many answers to any historical questions asked.
It's beautiful park with an interesting history. Our tour guide, Benny, was terrific. Even though it was a morning tour, it got very hot quickly so he tried to stop in shady spots, which was much appreciated.
Andrea was an excellent tour guide. She had a good plan to show us the park in an efficient pattern yet filling the time with stories and historical facts that made the tour seamless. She was great , really enjoyed her as our guide.
The guide did not acknowledge her with a visible company sign or greet me at the meeting point where I had to go to every single group to check if she was the one conducting the tour. Since I was the only visitor who joined this group, the tour did tour me around the destined points and gave information of each location which I inquiry about However, as a local guide, I would expect her to show warm hospitality and be more initative. rate of her performance = fair
