Itinerary
Sant'Apollinare Nuovo is a stunning 6th-century basilica located in Ravenna, Italy. The basilica is famous for its impressive Byzantine mosaics that adorn the walls and ceilings, which depict scenes from the Bible and the life of Jesus Christ. Visitors can marvel at the intricate details of the mosaics and learn about the fascinating history of the basilica through guided tours and interactive exhibits. Sant'Apollinare Nuovo is considered one of the most important examples of early Christian art in Italy and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a must-see for anyone interested in art, history, and culture.
The second stop is the first street food stop: you will eat a local delicacy, LA PIADINA. Piadina is a traditional Italian flatbread that is popular in the Emilia-Romagna region. It is a staple food in many Italian households and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. The bread is made with flour, water, and salt, and is typically cooked on a hot griddle or stone. The piadina can be filled with a variety of ingredients, such as cheese, cured meats, vegetables, or spreads. One popular filling is stracchino cheese and prosciutto, a classic combination that is both savory and satisfying.
The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia is a Late Antique Roman building in Ravenna, Italy, built between 425 and 450. It was added to the World Heritage List together with seven other structures in Ravenna in 1996. Despite its common name, the empress Galla Placidia (d. 450) was not buried in the building, a misconception dating from the thirteenth century; she died in Rome and was buried there, probably alongside Honorius in the Mausoleum of Honorius at Old Saint Peter's Basilica.
Here you will visit the marvellous mosaics of San Vitale Basilic
We will taste fresh italian Pasta in a very modern resturant that keeps the tradition of the local cuisine. Cappelletti is a type of pasta from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Cappelletti are small, filled pasta shapes similar to tortellini.
Here you will taste a delicious artisanal ice cream

Very nice small group tour. We only had 6 people in our group. Our tour guide, Marta, was wonderful and very knowledgeable. We'll worth the money.
Excellent tour! We LOVED it! Our guide was Marta. She is kind and very knowledgeable. Very happy we went on this tour.
I use a walker and found the walking tour to be handicap accessible. Our guide, Marta, was very knowledgeable about history and the meaning behind the beautiful mosaics. The 3 food stops provided time to sit and rest.
A perfect introduction to Ravenna. Our guide had the ideal combination of in-depth knowledge of the monuments and their history, along with enthusiasm and warmth. We loved the rhythm of the tour with stops for amazing food. We absolutely loved it!
Our guide was absolutely wonderful. Her english was excellent and her knowledge amazing. In fact we asked her how she remembered everything and it’s clearly her vocation to learn everything she can. It was a real pleasure to spend time with her and we missed her on our exploring the next day.

It was was a great tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and interesting. The Basilicas were stunning and the food choices were delicious.
Ravenna is a beautiful city to walk around, all the most important monuments are in the center, with the bike rented at the station, and in the cycle path you can get to the basilica of San appolinare in class...
I was a little wary in choosing this tour as it didn’t have many reviews but we were just in town for a few hours on our way to a cruise and wanted to see the sites and grab some lunch and this ticked all the boxes. Marta was truly a gem and her passion for her home and knowledge of the sites was outstanding. The food was also fabulous and we were stuffed! Highly recommend this tour and hopefully you’re lucky enough to get Marta as your guide.
