Description
Globally award-winning Altitude Tours presents the Twilight Wine & Craft Beer Tour — an afternoon where the choice is yours. Designed for the young-at-heart and anyone curious about local winemaking and brewing, this lively experience visits three cellar door and brewery locations across Gibbston and Arthurs Point. At each stop, choose between wine or craft beer tastings, making it perfect for couples, friends, or solo travellers with different tastes. You’ll be hosted by passionate cellar door staff and your knowledgeable local guide. The tour wraps up with shared antipasto platters at the last stop before returning to Queenstown around 7pm — just in time for dinner plans or some more drinks out in the Queenstown town.

Itinerary
The first stop on tour is the GT Tasting Room, located at the historic Gibbston Tavern. Guest’s have the opportunity to select a wine or local craft beer tasting. The wine is grown and produced in the Gibbston region and the beer is from a local brewery just 1km down the road. Learn about the unique Gibbston region for producing world class wines and savour the flavours of what the locals beer drinkers consume.
Next is a short drive further into the Gibbston region at Kinross Cellar Door. Here is a hosted wine tasting with Kinross and their 4 boutique wine partners. Try a drop from each 5 producers including some of the most awarded Pinot Noirs in the world. If you prefer beers, here you will have the option to taste 4 delicious local beers, with self guided tasting notes to help decipher the flavours of the beers. During the seated tasting you will be able to indulge in delicious charcuterie boards.
Lastly we drive approx. 20 minutes back to the Queenstown Marina to Altitude Brewery. This is time to sit down, relax, and socialise with the group with tasting flights of both locally produced, highly classed boutique wines or the crafted beers produced by Altitude before returning safely to Queenstown just in time for your dinner.

Beautiful day in Central Otago with Emma. She was a great host and we enjoyed the day. Kinross was a highlight.
Thank you for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear you had a beautiful day exploring Central Otago. It's also wonderful to hear that Kinross was a highlight of your experience. We appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back for another tour soon!
overall, quite terrific. Our tour guide Shanay was a energetic, super fun person. The first “platter”at Gibson Tavern was chips and salsa, not appropriate for this type of tour! Kinross Winery was FANTASTIC with terrific charcuterie boards as expected, made it all good…. Wood overall highly recommend this experience.
Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re so glad you had a terrific time and that Shanay’s energy and fun personality made the day memorable. The tour only includes platters at one location, Kinross which we're glad you enjoyed. The chips and salsa at Gibbston Tavern are just something for people to snack on if they'd like. Thanks again for the recommendation. We hope to see you again soon! :)
Caleb was soooo funny! Enjoyed him so much. Great tastings, great stops! Each winery and brewery was really fun.
Caleb will get a kick out of this! Sounds like he kept everyone laughing while the wineries and brewery did the rest 🍷🍺 Thanks for joining us!
Did the evening tour as an optional activity for g-adventures. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Our guide Caleb was great - and very funny!! Both vineyards and craft beer were great and drinks/food were excellent!
Sounds like a fun evening out! Caleb will be pleased to hear the shout-out — and not surprised that his jokes got a mention too 😄 Glad you enjoyed the wine, beer, and platters.
This was such an amazing experience, Do, our tour guide was incredible so kind and factual about the wine and grapes and history behind it. Would really recommend doing this tour on your stop in Queenstown!!
Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re thrilled you had such an amazing experience and that Do made it so special with her knowledge and warmth. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again soon!
Tour was excellent. Ana -our guide- was amazing. Fun with the group with good selection of wineries along the way. Ana helped fill in questions and provided more infor on the region as well. Have been on other wine excursions. This was the best we’ve done.
That’s high praise — especially with a few wine tours under your belt! Ana will be stoked to hear this; she’s great at keeping things fun while adding that extra local insight 🍷 Glad you chose to spend the day with us.
Great little wine and beer tasting tour. Enjoyed our guide. Good mix of both beer and wine and fun places
Glad you had a good time! That mix of wineries and a brewery keeps the afternoon interesting. Thanks for joining the tour and coming along for the tastings 🍷🍺
Visited 2 wineries and 1 brewery. All 3 were very interesting and had great products. We had a fun time with our guide, Edina, and our group clicked. That’s important to having a good time.
Sounds like the group chemistry worked out perfectly, Kandy! That mix of wineries and a brewery keeps the afternoon nicely varied, and Edita will be glad to hear she helped make it such a fun outing 🍷🍺 Thanks for joining us.
A fantastic tour, good wines and beers, and our Tour Guide, Shanai was brilliant. She certainly made it an occasion. The fee was very reasonable, especially with the platters included, and the four hour tour was just right. A great afternoon that suited a small group, and I would recommend this tour.
Sounds like a great afternoon, Garry! Shanay has a real knack for turning a wine tour into a fun social outing, so she’ll love hearing this. Four hours with good drinks, platters, and a small group is a pretty nice way to spend an afternoon 🍷 Thanks for coming along — and we appreciate the recommendation!
So much fun, cool history of wine in the area and to have an opportunity to select wine or beer tasting was a pleasant surprise.
Thank you for the great review! We’re so glad you had fun and enjoyed learning about the history of wine in the region :)
