Itinerary
Your Punta Gorda Sunday ATV and buggy tour begins at our eco-friendly Roatan base camp, where you're geared up with sanitized helmets, goggles, and bandanas for a thrilling day of off-road fun and beachside relaxation. Our bilingual local guides will give you a detailed safety briefing, perfect for both first-timers and seasoned riders. This 40-minute prep session isn't just logistics — it’s where the excitement starts. Meet fellow travelers, test your ATV or dune buggy, and get ready for an unforgettable Roatan jungle and beach tour. We’re proud to be the only operator offering a small-group Punta Gorda ATV adventure, blending eco-conscious travel with fun and cultural depth. You'll also learn about our sustainable jungle practices, including how we modify our vehicles to protect Roatan’s natural trails and wildlife habitats. Get ready to ride through muddy jungle paths, discover hidden viewpoints, and experience Roatan’s wild beauty before hitting the coast.
As your Roatan ATV & buggy adventure continues toward Punta Gorda, you'll journey along a stunning Caribbean coastal route, passing through French Harbour—Roatan’s vibrant fishing hub. While we don’t stop here, your guide will highlight iconic landmarks like the Iguana Marine Park and share rich stories about Roatan’s seafaring heritage. This scenic stretch is more than just a transfer—it’s a window into authentic island life, far from the usual tourist trail. Watch local fishermen mending nets, spot frigate birds diving into turquoise waters, and feel the breeze of the open coast as you cruise in your 2-seater buggy. Our eco-jungle buggy tour was designed to immerse you in real Roatan culture, even in transit. Plus, this part of the ride gives you time to get comfortable handling your buggy on smoother roads before we dive back into the jungle terrain. Don’t worry about missing photos — we’ve planned stops at key panoramic viewpoints up ahead for amazing shots.
Next up on your Sunday Funday Punta Gorda ATV & beach tour is a fan-favorite stop at the iconic Isery Club pirate ship — a perfect mix of local legend, family fun, and Instagram-ready adventure. Climb aboard this weathered wooden vessel for 20 minutes of swashbuckling fun! Snap unforgettable photos on deck with treasure chests, Jolly Roger flags, and even the crow’s nest, which offers panoramic views of the Caribbean coast. This spot marks a legendary pirate anchorage, and your guide will share tales of Roatan’s buccaneer past that bring the moment to life. While kids love the hands-on pirate play, adults enjoy the historic charm and picture-perfect views just as much. Pro tip: Pose in front of the Honduras flag backdrop for a souvenir photo that captures the spirit of your Roatan ATV jungle and beach tour. Feeling thirsty? A local coconut vendor nearby serves up fresh island drinks to keep your pirate energy going!
The soul of your Punta Gorda ATV & buggy cultural adventure comes alive at Roatan’s first Garifuna settlement, where you’ll spend 90 unforgettable minutes immersed in Afro-Caribbean tradition. Set against a scenic beach backdrop, Garifuna community members welcome you with live drum performances and traditional punta dancing — a rhythmic celebration of resilience, identity, and joy. This isn’t a staged act; it’s an authentic cultural exchange rooted in centuries of preserved history. Your local guide will share powerful stories of the Garinagu people, their migration, and how they’ve kept their language, music, and cuisine alive across generations. You’ll even be invited to join in and try the punta dance yourself no experience needed, just a willingness to move. This vibrant Roatan ATV and culture combo tour is unlike any other. You’ll leave Punta Gorda with mud on your tires, new dance steps in your soul, and a deeper connection to the real Roatan.

We had Glen for our tour guide to drive us to the village and ATV location. He was phenomenal. He taught us so much of the history and "off the beaten path" type tour. He is extremely knowledgeable and great personality. This is exactly what we wanted to see and experience the culture and traditions of those that have been in Roatan since late 1700's to now. Many traditions continue with families. I would recommend this tour over and over again. Once we got to the ATV park - it was a blast! The entire crew there was so kind and helpful. We had so much fun. The staff exceed our expectations. Absolutely wonderful!
Our tour with Brian Rashad was nothing short of amazing. He was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly—answering every question we had without hesitation. He even surprised us with Pine Cookies, which was such a thoughtful and unexpected treat. His calm and welcoming personality made the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable, like we were exploring with a trusted friend rather than just a guide. Now, let’s talk about the ATV ride—an adventure we were definitely not dressed for. Thanks to my daughter’s creative description, we expected a nice paved cruise. Well, it was paved… with dirt, mud, and water! Within minutes, we transformed from cute tourists into mud-covered warriors. We were soaking wet, covered head to toe, and completely unprepared without a change of clothes. Yes, showers were available, but without fresh clothes, that’s more of a wish than a solution. Brian truly went above and beyond. He graciously allowed four dripping wet, muddy women into his car without hesitation. He even let us roll the windows down so we could warm up and dry off, and he kindly stopped at a store so I could buy some shoes—because mine had officially surrendered to the mud. To top it off, someone on the property captured photos and video of our messy adventure, which we now treasure as proof of our unexpected transformation. If you ever visit Rotan, do yourself a favor and tour the East Side—especially on a Sunday. Just be prepared… and maybe pack an extra outfit. Mud happens, but with Brian as your guide, you’ll laugh through every minute of it.
I enjoyed my tour with Victor so much! Would definitely highly recommend, he made my solo birthday trip very special!
Happy Birthday again from all of us! 🎉 We’re overjoyed Victor made your solo celebration so special on our Punta Gorda Sunday Funday adventure. There’s no better compliment than hearing we helped create your ‘Best Birthday Ever’—that’s exactly the kind of unforgettable experience we strive for! Next year, we’d love to top this with our sunset buggy & beach combo tour—imagine birthday candles in the jungle breeze! Until then, keep riding life’s adventures as wonderfully as you did our trails. Thanks for choosing us to be part of your big day!
The description of this excursion is inaccurate. You do not drive an ATV to the Punta Gorda fishing village, you ride an ATV around a track in the jungle. In addition, the traditional ritual was not taking place on the Sunday we attended therefore we did not enjoy the song and dance. I was extremely disappointed and feel this was a complete waste of money. On a positive note, the ATV instructors and our driver were wonderful.
Dear Zoen, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We acknowledge your concerns regarding the tour not driving to Punta Gorda on ATVs, as this practice has been discontinued due to new traffic safety regulations prohibiting ATVs and Buggies from touring on the roads. It's important to note that we have never advertised ATVs but did with Buggy only in past for such a service and prioritize the safety of our most valued guests in compliance with the law. We regret that the dance performance by the native Garifunas was canceled on last minute, which was beyond our control. We understand your disappointment and are willing to offer a partial refund for the inconvenience. However, as you booked through Viator, a third-party seller, they handle the financial transactions for their bookings, and we receive payment after deducting their high fees only after a month or so. We would be delighted to provide you with a raincheck for a future visit to experience the dance show in Punta Gorda. We encourage you to book directly with us for this complimentary visit to Punts gorda to support the local economy and ensure a seamless experience for your future visit. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused and we look forward to welcoming you back for a memorable music and dance show. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Warm regards, Team ATV Dune Buggy Roatan
This was the best experience we had during our visit to Roatan! The guide, Oscar, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the island. The communication between us and the tour company was excellent. We were picked up from our West End hotel and dropped off there as well. Our visit to Punta Gorda was the highlight of the excursion. The Garifuna people we encountered were all very welcoming and excited to teach us about their culture. We ate machuca, a traditional Garifuna dish, and had a couple of drinks at an over-the-water bar where the host and his wife took great care of us! We finished our visit watching the performance of Punta dancing and drums. It was such an exciting gathering of people having a great Sunday evening!! I highly recommend this experience for anyone wanting to get a glimpse of the Garifuna culture. Our guide was amazing and made us feel comfortable.
Your review perfectly captures why we love sharing our Punta Gorda Sunday Funday adventure! We’re thrilled Oscar and the Garifuna community made your Roatan trip so special—from the flavorful machuca to those electrifying Punta dance performances. It’s exactly this blend of cultural immersion and genuine connection that makes our tour unique. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with Oscar (he’ll blush at the praise!) and the Punta Gorda hosts who welcomed you so warmly. Your recommendation means the world to us! If you’re ever back on the island, we’d love to show you more hidden gems on our east-end cultural tour—maybe try making cassava bread next time? Thanks for letting us be part of your unforgettable Sunday evening—we’re still smiling about your ‘best experience’ comment!
I appreciate the time and effort from this tour company to make sure we had a great time which we did!!!!! This was my first time on a Dune Buggy and our guides Ariel and Juan were patient, professional and so kind! We didn’t get to see the Garífuna dancers on the day we booked the tour because it was a holiday but Oscar, who picked us up from our hotel, quickly advocated on our behalf to get a makeup tour. Even though we didn’t get to see the dancers, Ariel took us to a local restaurant to enjoy pescado frito y plátanos….delicioso!!!!!!! Oscar was friendly and he didn’t feel like a tour guide, it felt like he was family. He took us to a local vendor to get ‘corn rice’ which is a Honduran pastry (snack) and Oscar’s favourite….which was so good!!!!! Our makeup tour was equally amazing and we got to experience a little of the Garífuna culture (including machuca, gifiti and a coconut pastry which I forgot the name). This was our first time on the island and we are so humbled by the kindness of the people and we learned so much from our conversations with the locals. Thank you Oscar, Ariel, Juan and Joel for making this experience so wonderful!!!
Your review warmed our hearts! We’re so grateful you embraced the unexpected changes with such positivity—that’s the true spirit of adventure! Ariel, Juan, and Oscar are beaming knowing they made your first dune buggy experience so memorable (and delicious—pescado frito and corn rice cravings are our specialty!). While we wish you could’ve seen the Garífuna dancers, we’re thrilled our team created an equally rich cultural experience with machuca, gifiti, and those coconut pastries (we call them ‘pan de coco’—now you know Oscar’s secret snack!). Your openness to connecting with locals exemplifies why we love sharing Roatan’s hidden gems. Next time, we’d love to welcome you back for the full Punta Gorda Sunday Funday—drummers included! Until then, keep savoring those Honduran flavors and memories. The whole crew sends big hugs!
My wife and I visited the ATV guys with the intension to visit Punta Gorda and have the chance to learn a bit more about the traditions of that part of the island while getting a more adventurous ride than the hotel's van or a rental. Long story short, after meeting with the MOD Joel, being introduced to our guides and no more than 30 mins after we started our 4-5 hours buggy trip we got caught in the middle of a tropical storm in our way to the Garifuna village that didn't stop for one second until the end of that night! We were very lucky to have Jboo and Quinn as our guides, we definitely made it safe back to our hotel thanks to their expertise on the road but even more important, we got back to our room entirely soaked but very very happy to have had the change to share such a great experience with them two. They definitely turned around something that could be a terrible and scary buggy trip into one of the most memorable experiences of our whole trip. We are definitely going on another trip with them next time we visit Roatan, hopefully weather will be on our side this time!
Now THAT’S what we call true adventure spirit! 🌧️ While we typically promise sunny skies for our Punta Gorda Sunday Funday, you and your wife proved that tropical storms just add extra excitement (and legendary stories!). Jboo, Quinn, and MOD Joel are grinning ear-to-ear knowing they turned potential chaos into what you called one of your trip’s most memorable experiences—that’s the power of having Roatan’s best guides behind the wheel! We’d love to host your next buggy adventure with (fingers crossed) sunshine and dry trails—maybe our east-end sunset tour to make up for the soaked socks? Either way, we’ll keep the pan de coco dry and the Garifuna drummers ready! Your positive attitude inspires us all—true adventurers like you make our jobs unforgettable.
I loved this cultural tour altogether.....it's great to come across such type of culture....really enjoyed.
Your ‘Hurray!’ just made our whole team cheer! 🎉 We’re thrilled you connected so deeply with the Garifuna culture on our Punta Gorda Sunday Funday—those drumbeats and traditional flavors (hello, machuca!) really do stay with you long after the tour ends. Our local partners in Punta Gorda will be overjoyed to hear their warmth and traditions resonated with you. That’s the magic we aim for: where ATV thrills and cultural discoveries create lifelong memories. Next time, we’d love to show you even more hidden gems—maybe our east-end cooking class to master those coconut pastries? Until then, keep spreading that infectious joy—it’s travelers like you who make our jobs so rewarding!
