Nice tour, a bit short.... stood at 1 hour...but with 45 min ready....mss due to heat. Seen a lot, in museum basement (how it used to be with harvesting and processing) as a tip would be nice if there would be a video or how it goes now....
We love Oil and have experienced tastings. We booked the reservation and once we got to Ostuni realized we needed a taxi or we needed to rent a car. We opted for the car. Trip Advisor informed us that the tour would take 1 1/2 hours. Our tour barely lasted 40 minutes. The tour guide explained some things about the farm and the mill. The tasting was done in plastic cups and they didn’t provide water, crackers. My advice is to look elsewhere.

Regarding transportation, the experience takes place in the countryside near Ostuni and many of our guests choose to arrive independently by car. However, we are always happy to assist in arranging transfer solutions whenever requested in advance, and we regret if this aspect caused inconvenience during your day. Concerning the duration of the experience, the activity normally lasts approximately one hour. Timings may occasionally vary slightly depending on the interaction of the group, the pace of the visit, and operational aspects at the masseria on the day of the tour. Nevertheless, we sincerely regret if the experience felt shorter than expected from your perspective. We also appreciate your comments regarding the tasting service. The olive oil tasting is served in individual single-use tasting cups chosen for hygiene and food safety reasons, in accordance with current standards. At the same time, we completely understand that some guests may expect a different style of presentation during a tasting experience, and your feedback is genuinely valuable as we continuously work to refine and elevate the overall guest experience we offer. Our goal is always to offer authentic and memorable experiences that reflect the warmth, traditions, and hospitality of Puglia, and we are genuinely sorry that this was not fully the impression you took away from your visit. This was an enjoyable tour in the olive groves of Masseria Valente. The information regarding the olive trees and production and the antique pressing in the cave below was interesting. The tour guide gave the information efficiently but didn't have a great understanding of English and couldn't really answer any questions that we asked. The tasting was nice but a large tour group had just toured before us and must have bought quite a lot of the oils for purchase so there was limited quantity for us to buy. The Masseria and grounds were beautiful and we went early and just walked around the grounds awhile admiring the flowers and plants. It was so peaceful.

It was a fun thing to do. We walked around the olive groves and heard about the lifecycle, from tree to table. We then tasted three types of oils and discussed them (who knew one could drink pure olive oil out of a glass?!), and learned about cooking uses of the different oils. The guide was humourous and engaging.

This was a fabulous experience! We learned so much, and our guide was both knowledgeable and engaging. We were a family of four, so I was a wee bit concerned about it being worth the cost, but it was great value — I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

If you are interested in olive oil and the history, its a great little tour. You see some ancient trees of 1200 years old, taste some oils and see some history of oil making.

Great tour .. saw the old olive trees and our guide explained how they grow and form ! Then went underground to ancient cave yo where they used to press the olives! The cave was in use from the 2400’s yo the 1900’s- really amazing to see. Olive tasting was great - great experience ! We stayed following tour for a glass of wine in the courtyard ,,, highly recommend this tour!!!

A nice walk through the olive vineyard with knowledgeable guide. The incredible huge old olive trees are amazing. Then a tour of an old style disused press and finally a tasting of three olive oils. All in leas then 60 minutes. If they charged 15 or maybe 20 euros it’s worth it. As is, at 43, although pleasant, it’s a ripoff.
