My husband and I did the Private Wine, Evo Oil, Balsamic Vinegar Experience & Truffle Meal on our honeymoon. The entire experience was amazing and the winery was absolutely beautiful. We ordered a lot of wine to send back home to the USA! We cannot wait to go back when we return.
This was a highlight of our time in Tuscany! It was a gorgeous day, the view is spectacular, the service was fantastic, and the food and wine were superb!
We had an amazing wine tasting experience with our family of 6 at Podere la Marronaia. It was a lovely day with the most beautiful landscape of the winery and views of San Gimignano. The wine, evo and balsamic vinegar was delicious, we even ordered some to send home. And the lunch to go along with it made it the perfect afternoon. The staff/family at the winery could not have been more lovely and welcoming. We’d highly recommend this experience!
We loved our visit to the winery! The setting was absolutely magical — so beautiful. The food was delicious and the wine, olive oil, and vinegar tastings were great fun and also delicious. Our server spoke perfect English and was so helpful and informative. We ordered several bottles to be shipped home and we would love to return and take a cooking class!
Postcard views, wonderful meal, excellent oils, vinegars, and wines. Our host was so helpful and answered our numerous questions. We had 6 wines offered with the meal and dessert and requested another that was just as good as the rest. We shipped oil, vinegar, and wine home, and are enjoying them. Will go back when we return to San Gimignano.
AMAZING! There were so many wonderful elements to our experience. This is a must if you are in the area and would like to experience some of the best Tuscany offers. The family has the most amazing property and views. We tried the aged balsamics, olive oils and finishing oils that are superior. I truly found the wines exceptional and I really appreciate the fact that things are beyond organic, they are biodynamic! The service was 5 star and I highly reccomend Podere La Marronaia!
This was such a highlight for us! We absolutely loved our wine and olive oil tasting along with a lovely Tuscan lunch! We sat on the patio ( a bit hot this day but we did have misters) and a view of San Gimignano! We enjoyed all the wines we tried and even tried some extra Rose’ that was on the house. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting was fabulous and we ordered some to take home and for delivery to our home in the states. Everyone was so friendly and did such a great job of explaining the wines and oils. We did the 1130 tasting and had plenty of time to go into San Gimignano for shopping afterwards. Highly recommend this tour!
Not what I expected. The place was near a big road so you could hear the cars driving by at high speeds, the tables are on oak barrels which are too high to sit at and too low to stand. We had a swarm of bees come to the table and the waiters did nothing except apologize. The appetizers they brought were dry, and pasta was better, but there was a lot to be desired. The cherry on top was the owner who told us we couldn’t get our money back for booking 4 people for the tasting when it was two kids and two adults. ( we had specified it in the notes, someone should have notified us of the mistake. BEFORE the visit). So I ended up paying for a wine tasting for 4. They did not even offer a free bottle of evoo for God’s sake. We have travelled the world and had many wine tastings, this one needed a lot more improvement. The quality of the wine was average at best. I don’t recommend. Save your money and time and try another place.
Dear Sirs, we take note of your notes, even if they were made only here and not orally. In reference to your booking, we would like to specify that this was not made with us directly but via VIATOR. In the booking history and in the notes there was no mention of children, but it appeared to be regularly made for 4 people, a lunch with tasting. Upon your arrival we correctly warned you that the girls could not do the wine tasting but only oil and balsamic tasting, suggesting that you change to a simpler menu for them and get some products for the difference in price paid (which we would have given you as an extra gift). as the difference paid was only €5 each). Unfortunately, as a booking was made via the VIATOR portal, we CANNOT intervene in any way in the modification. Instead, you opted to have the complete menu for 4 people and we honored you with a double type of dessert for all 4 of you, as a replacement for the wine tasting that the girls hadn't done. During the experience no requests or complaints were made, on the contrary you seemed to appreciate it a lot. The surprise came at the time of check out, when you asked for some bottles of balsamic (the cheapest costs €35!) in exchange for the girls' lack of wine tasting (€5 x 2 girls, €10 total) for the which we had already agreed with the double dessert served not only to the girls but to the whole family - 4 people. When we reminded you of what had happened, you threatened to give a negative review if we didn't accommodate you. At this point let's make a reflection and a consideration: we are open to the public every day and to satisfy the needs, even the strangest ones, of our customers; we work correctly and honestly, putting in our efforts and above all our face. For all this, out of respect for ourselves and our passionate staff, we cannot increase this incorrect system.
This was the first stop on the visit to Italy, and it set the perfect tone for a wonderful experience. From the delicious wines to the great food and add in the absolutely gorgeous views, you must experience this place. Whether you start your Italian adventure here or end it, nothing will take the stress out of you like an afternoon here.
The balsamic vinegars and olive oils were very tasty. The lunch was very good. The staff was helpful and the view of San Giamiagiano was spectacular. The only letdown was that there was no information about how any of the products were produced. We had hoped to understand oil and vinegar production and perhaps see some of the process. A nice afternoon, though.
