Zemun, as every proper fairy-tale city should, has a secret or dark side, which has not only changed the fate of the country more than once but also the fate of Europe. But that doesn't scare us, does it? This city tour is beautiful, simple, and full of amazing stories. Without them, it is impossible to understand neither Belgrade nor the rest of Serbia. The park with Orthodox and Catholic churches, ancient roman sarcophagus and Armenian khachkar, located on the site of former quarantine hospital
Former Ashkenazi synagogue. The XIXth century synagogue, where rabi Alkalai, precursor of modern Zionism, served, and now it is a traditional Serbian restaurant inside the building.
The mural depicting the main Zemun sights, painted on the restored wall of one of the oldest houses in Zemun.
The memorial tower, built for the celebration of a thousand years of Hungarian settlement in the Pannonian plain, is the best viewpoint in Zemun.

A wonderful excursion around the ZemuN region, we saw all the main attractions, an excellent guide with interesting facts. Now we know that vampire is a Serbian word, and there are a lot of interesting things about Dracula) we tried the Serbian second breakfast ☺️

Our guide was Olga, who introduced us to the wonderful Zemun. We explored the city together and learned about the history and interesting places of the area. It turned out to be a very interesting walk with discussions and discoveries, at a very comfortable pace for us.
