Private Walking Tour in Zagreb with Local Guide

Description
Guiding for me is a passion, and if you are curious to learn about our culture, history and people join me on my walks. As the world entered the Covid lockdown, in March and in December 2020 Zagreb in Croatia was hit by two strong earthquakes. This is way most of the city center buildings are hidden under scaffolds. We can still walk around and tell the story of the the people, country and the city that goes back 1000 years ago.

Itinerary
Kaptol and the Zagreb Cathedral is not just a church, it is an identity building landmark for all Croatians
During our morning walks we can make a short stop on Dolac market to sense the place where we buy local and seasonal food
We all have the same itinerary, but do we tell the same stories? A line that divided Zagreb in the past is unifying it today.
The Stone Gate of Zagreb is a special place where we can feel a medieval character of the Upper Town.
The competition for power between two parts of Zagreb. Secular - or religious. Grič or Kaptol. The Upper Town's landmarks square beat the rhythm of the political life of the whole country (Republic of Croatia). Where do the Middle Ages hide here?
The saint patron of the Upper Town is St Blaise (like in Dubrovnik), but the community church is dedicated to St. Mark (like in Venice). What was the medieval community like?
The Funicular is closed during 2025 and part of 2026. Work on the Funicular will begin on Monday, January 20, 2025, and is expected to be completed in March 2026.
Fairytale or nightmare?
Petar Preradović Square or the Flower Square as local people call it. A mandatory stop on a walk through the city for every Zagreb resident.

A great guide, a true enthusiast who knows the history of her country perfectly. A great time at his side. Don't hesitate. She will answer your questions. Or will be able to provide some answers.
Merci!
Ms. Spomenka Sabic, guide, is exceptional for 100€ for two. An exceptional culture, it answers all your questions
Very enjoyable and informative walking tour of old upper town of Zagreb with guide Samra. She. Took us to see all the sites and finished with the old funicular.
Thank you and see you again in a year or two :)
We started our trip in Croatia by visiting Zagreb, a family of 8 persons from Iceland. Samia was all in, telling us about the impressing history of Zagreb, the culture, how the community has been built through the centuries and what, and where, we should particularly pay attention in our coming trip in Croatia. We do really recommend Samia to be “Your” guide in Zagreb 😎
Thanks and have a nice trip in Croatia!
Samia was so kind and knowledgeable of Zagreb and Croatia. We learned so much. It was lovely to walk through the city during advent Zagreb, and celebrate the holidays with a bustling city. It also happened to be the day that the Croatia football team was returning to the country after placing third in the World Cup. so the whole city was a buzz with football Samia engaged both of my kids as well as took dozens of questions from my husband and I she was a great host and representative of the city.
Thank you I-Hsing! Yes, it was a bit chaotic, but interesting. I hope you will return to Croatia for more discoveries!
