A brief history of Fort Jesus is that it was built in 1593 to the design of Giovanni Battista. it also includes the Portuguese and the Arab colonial time
I will accompany tourist to the oldest port in east Africa which was invented in the 12th century and explain to them how the Arabs and Indians use to do trade in east Africa at the other colonial government
On my walking tour, we will enter the oldest market in Mombasa where we will lean more about the history of the building and the Swahili cultural spices and traditon.it was built in 1914 and officially opened by sir henry mackinnon.it was positioned to serve Asians and Europeans in the old town.
The street was renamed after sir Mubarak hinawyan influential figure in pre independence coastal rulership hinawy was the first governor of Mombasa in 1937
We will pass by Ndia Kuu road which has a rich history of old town and it housed the first police station in the area
As we pass by, we shall pass the oldest post office which was opened in 1899 to enable the Indians to send their money back home

Malik, was an incredible host, who gave me on of the best tours I have ever been on. He knows everyone in Mombasa and as such, that provides a very unique experience, while affording incredible access to all things that Mombasa has to offer. PS. Ask him to show you his music, it's great .
Malik is easily my favorite guide in mombasa. He know EVERYONE in town. He grew up in Old Town and knows history none of the other guides know.
