Outstanding Private Walking Tour

Maribel is a fantastic guide, who delightfully shared her vast knowledge of Mexico City and Mesoamerican history/culture with our family on our walking tour of the historic center. She’s the perfect guide - knowledgeable, engaging, positive and truly loves her city and culture. Not only did she share all the highlights of the historic center, but she also mentioned some of her other favorite neighborhoods, coffee places and bakeries which we visited later on our own. Additionally, at the request of my husband, she went out of her way to highlight a few areas where the opening sequence of 007 “Spectre” were shot. I highly recommended Maribel, and also wish to give a shout out to Luisa at the agency who coordinated our pre-tour details and meeting place.

A must do to start your Mexico City Travels

I would highly recommend this as a start to any trip to Mexico City. We had personal service that provided us the time and space to explore and focus what was most important to us. It gave a broad brush history and perspective that we were able to carry with us through the rest of our exploration. Guide, Alejo, was so knowledgeable. Well worth the $ spent - for any history or art buff.

A Great Tour Of Centro Historico

Our private guide, Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and quite entertaining. He made Mexican history come alive. We started our tour at the Palacio de Bellas Artes where we felt we were in an architecture and art history class as Carlos took us through the extraordinary building and the murals on display in it. Our tour moved on as we explored some special spots we would have missed on our own in Centro Historico. From there we toured the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral where again he provided unique details. Finally we ended our tour with his informative history lesson of the Aztec’s time in Mexico City and the Temple Mayor. Carlos is a fantastic, highly knowledgeable guide and I highly recommend this tour!

Tour guide extraordinaire…ask for Tadeo

Wonderful tour with guide Tadeo who was historian and stand up comic all rolled up in one! Despite walking for 3 hours in the heat on this private tour he kept us fully engaged throughout. Bravo Tadeo and best of luck with your studies!

Learned a lot about Mexican history

Jose Luis is an excellent guide: very engaging and informative. He majored in history (which shows) and his knowledge of art was also impressive. We learned so much from him about the complicated history of México during this tour. Why did the Aztecs decide to settle in what is now the Centro of Mexico City? How did they fall? What happened during Mexican independence and how did that ultimately lead to the Revolution? What was the policy behind the promotion of murals that led to the rise of artist like Diego Rivera? You will understand all this and more. Strongly recommend this if you want to learn something about México’s history and not just take photos of the historic center. Also eat lunch at the Azul Historico afterwards. Two thumbs way up!

Recommended Highly!

Hermes was an excellent guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable regarding each site we explored, but was sensitive to our needs to sometimes sit in the shade or take a rest. He educated us all along the way, yet was able to sit and share on a personal level making us feel that we were just friends exploring the city. It was a relaxed, yet fast paced tour taking in sites like the Grand Hotel, la Catedral Metropolitana where we walked through the door of forgiveness that had just recently been opened upon the request of Pope Francis when he had been hospitalized, the Templo Mayor and the Centro Cultural de Espana en Mexico, The Templo De San Felipe Neri La Profesa, the Francisco Madero Avenue, The House of Blue Tiles, The Belle Artes and other various significant landmarks to be recognized. Our time with Hermes lasted much longer than what we had anticipated as he made sure we had a full tour of the cultural areas in the city. We were very pleased with the entire tour and most specifically with Hermes, our guide. Thank you! Madeline and David Leach
