The drive from Muscat to Wadi Bani Khalid takes approximately 2 hours.
From the parking area, it’s a 15-minute walk to reach the stunning water pools. Here, you can swim and relax in the refreshing, crystal-clear mountain waters while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
After exploring Wadi Bani Khalid, we’ll visit a traditional Bedouin house where you can enjoy authentic coffee and dates while immersing yourself in the Bedouin lifestyle. Take the opportunity to capture memorable photos with their beautifully crafted handmade items. For those interested, a camel ride is also available but you need to pay by yourself it will cost around 3 OMR or 8 USD per person around 7-10 minutes. Finally, we’ll end the day by witnessing a breathtaking sunset over the dunes of Wahiba Sands if you start from Muscat at 10:30am or 11:00am, creating an unforgettable desert experience.
After exploring Wadi Bani Khalid and the Wahiba Sands Desert, we will embark on a two-hour drive back to Muscat.

Nice hike. A bit too long for my taste as an old woman. I would have preferred to stay all afternoon in Wadi Bani Khalid to enjoy the natural pools. Many hours by car. Luckily the driver Mohammed Alazri was very cautious, attentive and kind. He also made us listen to Musica Italiana
