It was cool arriving in Venice by boat as the sun was setting. Got some great photos, and our guide helped us find our hotel since we couldn't get the boat all the way to it. However, I was disappointed that the boat ride was not all the way from the airport as implied by the description on Viator.
Mattia was an excellent guide. He was there waiting for us with a sign right next to baggage claim. Our incoming flight changed at the last minute so I was concerned that the new arrival time might be an issue but it wasn’t. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend! It was a great way to start our trip.
It was a great experience being met just outside baggage claim, walking a little, getting right on a boat and driven across the water into Venice and then dropped off very close to our Airbnb. Those canals let them get close to everywhere in the city. They had room for our 7 people and all of our luggage with room to spare.
Very smooth. Our flight was met, a guide escorted us to our hotel and advised us along the way. Booking was a bit complicated. I thought I was booking shared accommodation and thought it pricey but got private boat and it was a considerably longer distance than I had anticipated.
