Description
Ride in a comfortable luxury minibus to the oldest City of Stockholm , Sigtuna, where we also will make a visit to some Viking rune stones and see a lot of the Swedish country side, with farms, animals, forests and lakes. Not far away is famous Uppsala town with it's many historical buildings and the huge and unique Uppsala Cathedral. Your private guide will make sure you get the information you need and are willing to take your questions. We recommend a couple of breaks to sit down for a bit, the first is a great Swedish restaurant where we can enjoy a traditional Swedish lunch, and the second stop could be to an old genuine coffee house dating back from the 17th century, for snacks and refreshments. You have the this premium car by yourself with your guide, so the tour is flexible for any requests during the day.

The tour involves a drive out in to the Swedish county side where we drive on small roads through farmlands, forests and lakes with a chans to see Viking ruin stones that goes back a thousand years in time. The drive to Sigtuna is 40 minutes and it is 30 minutes between the two cities. The drive back from Uppsala to Stockholm is about 60 minutes.

A chans to have a Swedish "fika" (coffee with a pastry) at one of Swedens oldest coffee houses, Tant Brun, dating back from the 17th century.
There are a number of old church ruins in Sigtuna, and we take a visit to the best preserved ruins of the all, St Olof, which still holds different ceremonies and weddings during the summers.
The Maria church in one of Swedens best preserved brick churches and dates back from the 13th century.
An option to go inside the city museum to read and see drawings of the old city as it all founded about 1000 years ago
The Main Street in Sigtuna offers many restaurants, coffee houses, ice cream shops and a variety of souvenir shops
Walk or go by car along the lake Mälaren for a nice view
Uppsala hosts one of Swedens oldest universities
The beautiful Linnaeus Gardens is a botanical garden with plants and flowers in all the colours you can think of.

At one of Uppsala oldest restaurants we take a break for a nice lunch and absorb the genuine atmosphere between the old walls of this unique establishment.

Thomas was a wonderful guide who took us on a great day exploring the areas for us to highlight was seeing the burial mounds as the sun set on New Years Eve and the historic buildings of this area of Sweden we highly recommend a day with Thomas. Also, if you are interested in tracing some family history he was more than happy to help with this as well.
