In 2004, the museum underwent an extension, "the Glory of Thebes," which houses a remarkable collection dating back to the New Kingdom (1570 - 1050 BC), featuring two royal mummies of Ahmose I and Ramses I. Next on your tour, you will visit the Luxor Mummification Museum, which opened to the public in 1997. This charming museum showcases an impressive collection of human and animal mummies, along with the tools used in the mummification process. The museum also features examples of the various objects typically buried alongside the deceased.
