Kairouan and El Jem

If you enjoy history, this tour offers a nice mix of Roman Afrika (Tunisia) and Ottoman. The mosques at Kairouan were beautiful and accessible. If you are a woman, just remember the head scarf and you will not have any issues the people tending to the Mosque where kind and welcoming. The Colosseum at El Jem was spectacular. You can experience a better preserved colusseum than in Rome and without the crowds. We took amazing photos with very few people around. Our guide was knowledgeable and courteous throughout. We wanted a little flexibility in the schedule to visit the archeological museum in El Jem, so we cut Sousse off the itinerary to make the time. He and our driver just rolled with it. Also we had lunch in El Jem at El Hana Cafe right anctoss from the colusseum. It had great reviews and lived up to them. All in, it was a good day.

Very memorable tour with Imed

This was altogether a very good full day trip. Kairouan was marvellous. El Jem amphitheatre was an experience that we shall never forget. What made the journey most memorable was Imed our guide. He was knowledgeable, witty and full of anecdotes. It is difficult to retain the attention of tourists for a full day but Imed is exceptional. He is the witty history teacher we all hoped we had and told us so many stories of the country with which we were not familiar. He has a unique way of interacting and getting to know his tourists. We recommend Imed highly for this tour. A country comes alive through its guides and we owe this fascinating tour experience to none other than Imed.
