Itinerary
Our journey begins with a scenic drive along the sparkling blue waters of Lake Sevan, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world. Rising above the lake on a small peninsula stands the ancient Sevanavank Monastery, founded in the 9th century. As you climb the stone steps to the monastery, the panoramic view of the lake unfolds—a breathtaking mix of deep blues and emerald greens that seem to stretch endlessly. You’ll explore the twin churches, Sevanavank and Arakelots, and feel the tranquil atmosphere that has drawn monks and travelers here for centuries.
After soaking in the serenity of Sevan, we continue toward the resort town of Tsaghkadzor, nestled in the forested slopes of the Teghenis Mountains. Here stands the Kecharis Monastery, a remarkable complex dating back to the 11th century. Surrounded by towering pines and crisp mountain air, Kecharis offers a peaceful glimpse into Armenia’s medieval architecture and spiritual history. As the sun sets behind the mountains, the golden light on the stone walls creates a picture-perfect ending to our first day of exploration.
