Private Sunset Horseback Riding in punta cana beach

Amazing experience at Rancho Macao. We did the ATV + horseback combo and the guides were patient, funny, and knew all the best photo spots. The horses were calm and well cared for. Ride through the jungle then hit Macao Beach at the end was perfect. Clean facilities, fast check-in, no hidden fees. Best way to see the countryside in Punta Cana. Highly recommend Booking private option

Would not recommend this tour sadly. First the title is “private sunset horseback ride” but once you are booking there is a separate menu you have to go and choose private (more expensive that the listed price) otherwise your are in a group tour. That was confusing. The tour was ok, not great, we were only on the beach for like 10 min to take pictures the rest was through the jungle. The unfortunate part was on the way pack it looked like it was going to rain and the guides started rushing the horses and getting them to ride fast my saddle wasn’t on securely and I ended up falling off and breaking a couple ribs. After the tour we complained to our driver and the owner reached out to me the next day. He offered me a partial refund which I have not received after 3 weeks and many messages. He has stopped responding. Not a great experience all together.

The people were great especially Juan, our driver! The horse ride was great and so were the views!!!

We chose Rancho Macao for the jungle adventure and it didn’t disappoint. Pickup was on time with private transport. The safety briefing was clear and the ATVs were new. Riding through the trails, caves, and sugarcane fields was way more fun than I expected. The horseback part along Macao Beach was the highlight – calm horses, great guide, and zero crowds on the sand. Staff treated us like locals, not tourists. If you want action + beach in one tour, this is it. Book early for morning slots, it’s less hot.

Such a fun experience and the people were so kind to new riders. My boyfriend and I were picked up by a driver named Juan and he was great. He answered all of our questions and was able to speak both english and spanish. The riding was more for pictures and they offer the packages seperately but I would recommend to dress nicely and get the pictures with friends or family as they come out so pretty right in front of the beach.

It’s a short hour and a half or so, but great for a quick or last minute tour before you leave Punta Cana. It offers great views of the shore and fantastic pictures!

Loved it! Pick up and drop off was easy! They seemed knowledgeable about the horses and wanted to give the best experience! I might be used to fat American horses cause they seemed skinny but happy

Hands down Juan was the best! He made this trip unforgettable. He provided transportation services and private excursions experiences. This trip we booked horse back riding with the photo package and ATV with the photo package. Prices were reasonable and we had a great experience. He drank fresh coconut water during the horseback riding excursion. The ATV was great jumping in the cenote and visiting the beach. The tour guides were friendly and kept us (3 women) safe. When we return to DR this will be the only person I book with! See you soon Juan!
