We loved our sunset sail! Our private boat ride was the highlight of our time in Moorea. They made it easy to coordinate and the views were spectacular!
Thank you very much Alexis for sharing your experience, we are very happy that our tour was the highlight of your time on Moorea. We appreciated spending the time with you.
We booked a private sunset sailing cruise for just the two of us, and honestly, it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of our entire trip. From the start, communication was simple and personal. Leo helped arrange everything, and Doris followed up with thoughtful messages that made it feel like we weren’t just another booking. Even small things, like offering to stop and grab poisson cru lunch boxes, showed how much they cared about the experience. Pickup was smooth right at the Hilton security booth. JP showed up in a gray Toyota Hilux, easy to find, right on time. From there, it just got better. The boat itself was beautiful, clean, and perfectly set up. The flower decorations, the crown and lei, and that bottle of local “Brut d’Ananas” champagne really made it feel like a celebration, not just a tour. You could tell they put intention into the details without it feeling overdone. Sailing out at sunset was unreal. The colors, the mountains, the water… it almost didn’t feel real. And because it was private, we could just relax into it. No rush, no noise, just the two of us taking it all in. A couple practical notes for anyone booking: They don’t provide food by default, so plan ahead. Either bring something from your hotel or take them up on their offer if they can arrange something local. Drinks were well covered though, juices, cocktails, and the champagne were perfect. If I had to nitpick anything, it would just be that knowing the food situation ahead of time helps you plan better. But honestly, that’s minor. What stood out most was the feeling. It didn’t feel transactional. It felt like they genuinely wanted us to have a great evening. If you’re debating whether to do a private sunset cruise, do it. And if you’re choosing a company, these guys made it feel easy, personal, and special in a way that’s hard to replicate. We’d do it again in a heartbeat.
Thank you very much for sharing such detailed experience. We truly appreciate your complete feedback. We are very happy you enjoyed sailing with us.
Taboo is an adorable small catamaran. Leo was a great Captain, timed the sail perfectly to watch the sunset and a wealth of knowledge about the island. Bonus, we really sailed part of the time, it’s so quiet and beautiful when the engine is off! There were 6 of us, and plenty of room (could have had at least another 2 people) wear your bathing suit and bring a towel in case you want to take a dip in the bay.
wonderful sunset tour with Léo and his catamaran, he also told us lots of interesting things about Moorea. Thanks to the good wind we were able to set sail and sail from Cooks Bay towards the sunset. It was a very nice experience
This was a highlight of our vacation. Conditions were spectacular with low wind and some clouds. Everyone on board had a fantastic experience (2 friends, adult child, my spouse and me. The meeting point is a little tricky but if you read the instructions and have some faith the captain, Leo, will be there to meet you as the catamaran returns from an afternoon snorkeling adventure. Leo was a kind, informative and competent captain.
Wow. I can’t say enough about the private sunset cruise and our captain, Leo. He was energetic, fun and taught us so much about Moorea and its history. We really enjoyed the sunset cruise and would recommend it to all. Not to mention Leo is a quasi-photographer with some of the shots he got of us. 10 out of 10.
My wife and I did the private sunset cruise on our honeymoon trip to Moorea. We had a fantastic time. The boat was beautiful, the sunset was absolutely gorgeous, and the flowers, snacks, and drinks provided were the perfect touch (we loved the pineapple champagne). We also really enjoyed learning more about the area! Overall, a really wonderful time. Would book again in a heartbeat!
Thanks Nickolas for your great review ! It was a pleasure having aboard for Private Sunset Cruise with the Celebrating Live option (including the flowers, pineapple champagne and snack that you are mentioning). We are happy you had a wonderful time and we would welcome you back anytime :) Mauruuru Roa Leo and Liza
My wife and I had a private sunset cruise with Captain Leo and had such a great, memorable experience! First off, it was a stunning way to see Moorea. Looking back at the mountain peaks as the sun begins to cast longer shadows, we were left in awe of this beautiful island. We enjoyed a couple rum drinks as we made a first stop in Cook’s Bay, and we learned a bit about the local history from Leo. After, we went out past the reef and did some sailing, feeling absolutely relaxed as we watched the sun begin to set. We made another stop in Opunohu bay and Leo offered to take some photos of us at just the right moment as the sun went down. Captain Leo was so kind, and full of information as well. We vibed really well with him, and would absolutely recommend doing a private cruise.
We had a wonderful experience. We were picked up by the Taboo at our hotel dock, traveled to two bays-very smooth sailing, learned a lot about the area, saw a rainbow and then watched the sky light up in shades of orange, yellow and pink as the sun set while drinking pineapple champagne. A great way to end Christmas Day.
We had the best time with Leo on the sunset couples cruise. It was just the two of us plus the captain. He made us snacks and drinks and we just had a wonderfully relaxing time enjoying the views and the sailing. Would highly recommend to anyone!!!!
