Jodhpur, the capital, was founded by Rao Jodha in the mid-1400s, A proficient Rajput king, belonging from Rathore Clan. The City continues to retain its medieval feel with numerous step wells, ancient temples, historic havelis, and Blue houses. The city is dominated by Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most impressive and interesting forts in all of Rajasthan. Ravinder is an incredible guide - knowledgeable and friendly. He can tailor the tour to your preferences. He was also very accommodating when we had to delay our start time due to traffic. In addition, he takes you to see real sweet shops and an incredible bazaar, not in tourist areas. Highly recommend
Ramesh was superb. He was recommended to us by the hotel as a sort of personal tuktuk driver and we used him for almost everything, except our formal full-day tour (arranged through a company). He speaks pretty decent English, is adaptable to your needs, has a genuinely thorough knowledge of the city and its side streets, and goes the extra mile to satisfy the needs of a tourist. I would include his phone number, but I don’t think I am allowed to.
The city tour experience and all the tips from Jpdhpur were amazing. I had great moments with the guide Ravi and thank you very much for the hospitality and attention. Indicate too much!
A really lovely day spent with Ravi on the walking tour of the city. Ravi knows so much about his city and our tour was so informative and interesting. Unfortunately the weather was quite rainy so Ravi rearranged the order of the day, which worked out perfectly. Ravi knew some great spots to take photos. I would highly recommend taking a tour with Ravi when you are in Jodhpur as he is really warm and genuine. Thanks so much for a pleasant day Ravi :-)
I could not recommend Ravi enough! Ravi is amazing he was personable and funny! Took you off the beaten path and gave you great recommendations for food and what to do and what to avoid! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and engaging way to explore the city! 5 stars isn't enough – I'd give them 10 stars if I could! 😄👏"
thank a lot dear friend for kind review 🙏
We truly recommend Ravindra for many different reasons. First, the communication by messages before starting the tour was already very good. He was flexible about the timing and place of meeting. Second, he has deep knowledges about the city and can tell you also different stories over different topics. He guided us through the blue city but also through the different markets , making us tasting various foods and letting us the time to interact with local people. He gave us the space for discover and enjoy the city. Third: He is also a very good photographer 😉. We feel very lucky that we met Ravindra . Thank you again!!!
Ravinder has been an unbeatable guide. We have entered the streets of the blue city, while he told us curiosities about it. We've been to eat typical sweets and tea at a traditional teapot. Finally, it has taken us to meet a textile wholesaler that although you do not buy anything, the explanation is already quite entertaining. Ravinder has always been attentive to us and very patient. Besides, he has taken pictures of us in very picturesque places. 5 stars. Thank you so much!
My wife and I had a superb experience exploring the rich, historical blue city such with Mr Ravindra as our historian and guide. From start to finish this tour was exceptional. The welcome and introduction made us feel comfortable. The service and knowledge related to the sites we visited was delivered with passion and in a way that was easy to digest. Mr Ravindra doesn't just give you a tour of the blue city he has an uncanny ability to explain you finer details such as science & technology and engineering aspects involved in building in blue city, stepwell etc. . Lastly, the tour guide went above and beyond to help us! We highly recommend this
SCAM - Avoid this guide! Unfortunately we have been mislead during this tour by being brought to a place where they sell you fake textiles through deception and lying. This whole tour is building up to a major scam at the end. It’s starts by Ravindra (the guide) being extremely polite and going over the plan for the tour and the shops we will visit. He mentions that the shops are away from the touristy area and much cheaper and more qualitative. The shops we will visit are the ones his wife and other local people go to. During the tour he gives you free candy and tea, further building up the trust. At the end he will bring you to a perfume store, a spice shop and a textile warehouse. In the textile warehouse a seller (who speaks exquisite English) will take you to a back room and give you all kinds of sales talk (Hermes is a customer, prices are greatly lower, a magazine article is being shown,…). He also offers you drinks as a way to feel like you need to give something back. As you trust your guide and the kindness of the local people you blindly walk into this scam. We as young tourists have been taking advantage of and fell into this trap. When exiting the shop with our newly bought junk the guide conveniently forgot his hat, a sly way to return to the shop and collect his commission right in front of our eyes. So avoid this man at all costs. Mr. Ravindra, I hope you feel something when touching your heart and greeting the shrines on every walk you do in the future. I hope you think about this review and how you took advantage of the kindness of the Rajasthani people and scammed two young people wishing you and your people all the best and giving all our love.
Ravi is very knowledgeable, flexible, caring. He guided the 15 of us with a fun yet trustworthy attitude and made our stay in Jodhpur amazing. Thank you Ravi!
