Nara Park is one of Japan’s most charming and unforgettable spots—especially for animal lovers. Here, you can stroll through wide, peaceful parklands while getting up close with the friendly, free-roaming deer that have become the symbol of Nara. These sacred animals are incredibly gentle and used to people, and one of the highlights is feeding them special “shika senbei” (deer crackers), which you can buy on-site. Some deer will even bow to you before receiving a treat!
This massive wooden temple is home to the Great Buddha (Daibutsu), one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in the world, standing over 15 meters tall. As you step inside the main hall, you'll be amazed by the scale, the craftsmanship, and the spiritual atmosphere that fills the space.
Famous for its bright billboards, lively atmosphere, and mouthwatering street food, Dotonbori is where Osaka truly comes alive. Take a photo with the legendary Glico running man sign, stroll along the canal, and soak in the energy of the city that never seems to sleep. This is the perfect place to try local favorites like takoyaki (octopus balls), okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), or freshly grilled crab from street stalls and specialty shops.
Shinsaibashi is Osaka’s top shopping district, blending trendy fashion, classic brands, and traditional charm all in one place. The famous Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street is a covered arcade packed with boutiques, department stores, and souvenir shops. Whether you're hunting for high-end labels or unique local finds, this is the place to shop.

Although getting around Kyoto with a walker presented some challenges, our guide and driver made the entire day incredibly comfortable and enjoyable. They were attentive, patient, and always willing to help, ensuring that we could experience Kyoto's highlights without stress. Our guide (Natsuko) was very knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights about the history, culture, and local traditions of Kyoto. At the same time, they gave us the flexibility to move at our own pace and adjusted the day to suit our needs. What impressed us most was the genuine care they showed throughout the tour. This experience felt like much more than a sightseeing tour. We were able to experience the warmth of the local people, the atmosphere of Kyoto, and small acts of kindness that made the day truly special. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto.
I came across WakuWaku travel while planning my family's first trip to Japan. We needed to get to Osaka from Kyoto and I wanted a driver to take us so that we could visit Uji and Nara along the way. The owner, Soya, helped me plan our day and suggested a tea ceremony at a tea house. He took care of all of arrangements and our guide, Taka, picked us up in a comfortable and large van promptly and we were on our way. Taka speaks very good English and is a great conversationalist. He is a DJ and we enjoyed listening to his music during our drive. Our visit to Uji included walking around the temple, watching mochi pounding and sampling matcha ice cream. The highlight, was the tea house visit where we were given a historical tour by the owner and operator who is the 16th generation to run the teach house. His passion for his craft was contagious and his matcha is the best in Japan. We then learned how to crush the matcha into powder and the proper way to make a ceremonial cup. The experience exceeded our expectations. Taka then took us toNara where we enjoyed a lovely lunch and visited the deer and Tendo-Ji temple. This was a highlight of our entire trip for our son who is fourteen. He really enjoyed interacting with the bowing deer. Taka took great pictures of us at all of our stops and recommended a few fabulous restaurants that were popular among locals for us to try in Osaka. I have already told several friends to use WakuWaku for their upcoming Japan adventures and you should too!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our day trip to Osaka, Nara, and the Deer Park was absolutely incredible, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Hiro! From the moment we met, he was warm, welcoming, and full of knowledge about the history and culture of each stop. The visit to the temples and shrines was breathtaking—Hiro explained the traditions and stories behind each site in such an engaging way that we truly felt connected to the experience. Feeding and walking among the friendly deer in Nara was magical and unforgettable! Lunch was delicious and perfectly organized, giving us a chance to relax and enjoy authentic flavors. The shopping portion of the trip was also a highlight—we had just the right amount of time to explore and pick up unique souvenirs. Everything was seamless, stress-free, and so well coordinated. Hiro went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and enjoyed themselves. This was hands down one of the best excursions we’ve ever booked, and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Japan. Thank you, Hiro, for making our day so special—we will remember this experience forever!
