The lunch with the guide after our tour. She recommended a local non-tourist restaurant and helped us order a traditional greek lunch before she left. Fantastic. Lubie was an excellent guide.
We loved this excursion!! It was our favorite one we did on our entire 14 day trip! corfu was incredibly beautiful but what really made it special was our tour guide Nikos! He was full of information about Corfu! He took us down to the water and arranged a small boat ride for us to be able to see the coast and to enter some caves. It was stunning. We did have to pay $25 more each couple but it was well worth it!!. Nikos joined us on the boat when we invited him and that was very helpful for translating purposes! He then took us into town and had lunch with us when we invited him. He helped us translate the menu and he recommended what authentic Greek food that we should order. We had Moussaka which was delicious and the most incredible Gyro and greek salad that we have ever had!! Nikos even shared his Souvlaki with us so we could try it all. The kumquat liqueur spritzer that is native to corfu was refreshing and delightful! I highly recommend this tour!! We plan to make a special trip in the near future to go straight to Corfu and stay a whole week there! Other tours could learn a lot from Nikos!! He was by far the best tour guide that we met and we where very grateful for his knowledge and hospitality!!
Excellent site high about Corfu's eastern shore. Interesting History about the original builder being the Empress of Austria and then the Kaiser taking over the palace. It was a casino in the '60's and then came under the custody of the Greek government. A must see if you are in Corfu.
