Angelo – ask for him, book the private sail cruise, add the sunset. Just do it. We almost went with the group tour and I’m so glad we didn’t. From the moment we stepped on board, Angelo made us feel like we were the only guests in the whole bay. He was genuinely curious about us, explained the nature around us, pointed out cenotes we would have never noticed, and – I still can’t believe this – he recited a poem in our language. That moment alone was worth every cent. The sunset addon turned the whole trip into something cinematic. We came back with photos and stories we’ll be telling for years. Absolutely worth showing off at home. Also the provider has clean toilets, pay/tip with card, a bar a restaurant, MODERN safety vests and co! And angelo if you read this, something new to learn 😄 Auf dem Teich, dem regungslosen, weilt des Mondes holder Glanz, flechtend seine bleichen Rosen in des Schilfes grünen Kranz. Hirsche wandeln dort am Hügel, blicken in die Nacht empor; manchmal regt sich das Geflügel träumerisch im tiefen Rohr. Weinend muß mein Blick sich senken; durch die tiefste Seele geht mir ein süßes Deingedenken, wie ein stilles Nachtgebet.

Our experience with "Tour y Velero Privado + Experiencia Capitán por un Día" was the highlight of our visit to Bacalar. Gonzalo and Hector were phenomenal guides who made the day truly perfect. This wasn't just a boat ride; it was a deep dive into the essence of the lagoon. They explained everything in detail: • The fascinating history of Bacalar. • The biological importance of the area. • The science behind the cenotes and why the water has those incredible colors. To top it off, they provided nice food and some cold chelas (beers), which were perfect for the sunny day. If you want a day trip that combines relaxation with learning about this unique ecosystem, Gonzalo and Hector are the ones to go with.

Beautiful service with Angelo and Valentine who introduced us to the Bacalar lagoon. The more Angelo speaks French. Really to do it is beautiful and Angelo and Valentine are super nice.

We had an amazing day on the lake. Could not recommend this more. We went as a family of five with our three boys ages 9, 7 and 4. They had a blast and it truly was so stunning out on the water. Our guides Hugo and David were extremely knowledgeable about the area in the history and were so patient with our wild children. It was the highlight of our entire trip and we hope to go back someday soon. Five stars!
