Private Pamukkale Day Tour from Istanbul by Plane

First off, Pamukkale is amazing and definitely worth a half day trip! In terms of this vendor, I probably should have taken their spotty communication ahead of our trip as a sign. I asked for an itinerary multiple times, which I don’t believe they are used to providing. They simply ignored that message while corresponding on other logistics (e.g. pick-up, airfare, etc.) until sharing a haphazard series of text the night before. On a positive note, they accommodated pushing our trip back a day to avoid rain (hence two stars). The hotel pick-up, airport greeting, and arrival to Pamukkale went smoothly. The guide was low energy and not very informative but pleasant. The wheels fell off after our visit to the thermal pools: 1. Lunch: This was included but obviously not planned. We initially stopped at two venues that were both closed. The third restaurant was only local in terms of it being inexpensive and no one there, tourists or locals. It was the worst meal we have had in a country with wonderful cuisine. We essentially ate some spread and watermelon from the buffer. Food was low quality with bread gathered in a waste bag. No drinks were offered, not even water. When we asked for a pair of waters and a soft drink, they gruffly charged us 300 lira. 2. Time filler: Our return flight was not until 7PM, so the guide suggested we go to an Onyx factory tour after we finished lunch at 2PM. I realize it is a standard practice for guides to do this in exchange for a commission but this “factory” was pretty shabby and we very little from their 3-minute presentation. We toured their showroom for a bit to be polite and then returned to the deserted airport three and a half hours early. 3. When we arrived in Istanbul, our car service was not schedule with the designated subcontractor when we checked in. They were fairly abrasive with us and all their customers. They told us to call our travel agency. After a few unsuccessful attempts, I was finally able to get in touch with the vendor, who was initially unresponsive. They said that they sorted it out, but we ended up waiting with our nine-year-old daughter in a dark parking lot surrounded by young Tukish men smoking for another thirty minutes without any updates. My wife and daughter began getting nervous and pushing to get an Uber. When we asked the vendor for support, he pushed back on our concerns saying the morning pick-up with the same vendor went well, Istanbul is known for traffic, and we should just “relax.” Then after the taxi arrived, he took us directly to the gas station without any explanation to fill up his tank. Not a complete disaster as it was an amazing morning, but the vendor did not add anything in terms of logistics or experience, just additional expense. I would have forgone a review if it had not been for the capping debacle and their lack of support. I would recommend booking directly through a combination of airlines, airport car service, and potentially local part-day car service instead of this group. Pamukkale is worth it nevertheless!

I went on a tour in English. My guide, YESRA, paraphrased it into Easy English, so it was easy for me to understand. I was asked if I could walk all of them, only the parts of them, or if I could go around because it was like a golf cart, and I walked all of them for about two hours. Lime racks are slippery in the hot springs (many people have bums sticking around), so you might not have to worry if you have a change of clothes. It was a pizzeria for tourists, but they served it freshly baked and it was delicious, and I have had the bean soup many times in Turkey, but it was my favorite. One of the family members was unwell and let me rest at the entrance cafe at first, and as I finished, they put me in the van again to join me at the exit. It was very helpful that they cut souvenir shops and took me to the supermarket at their request.

Took a great tour with Yesra tour guide of Pamukkale in Turkey. She is informative all along the trip . Very relaxed and fun to be with. Yesra knows the best little restaurants with authentic local cuisine. A+ experience all the way thru . You just got to ask for her to make the best trip.

Everything from pickup at the hotel to drop off at the end of the night was taken care of. Umut was great with the communications and was very organized. Nazli was our guide. She was very sweet and knowledgeable. She allowed us to organize the day as we wanted to. The Cleopatra pool is a can’t miss. At the end of the day, our private driver took us to a cotton textile store and waited for us to shop. We were then taken back to the airport to return to Istanbul. Very well done. Thank you.

I had Ibrahim as my guide as well for Pergamon and it went great with him as a great story-teller so when the agency told me I will have a knowledgeable guide, he was right. Not only really knowledgeable, Ibrahim made sure the information is apt and appropriate to the guest with lots of stories in between, both fiction and historical. He knows his craft so much that the information is shared to me even on the road since the destinations are quite a distance from each other. Driving to Pamukkale was 2.5 hours one way so the trip didn't feel long because of the stories, jokes, music, and just fun driving and singing on the road. His stories and information on Pamukkale and Hierapolis helped the place come alive that you really want to travel back in time to see how those things in the past happened. Ibrahim is able to answer questions and he is all the more encouraging me to ask more questions and he'd be ready to share an answer.

Beautiful view and well planned tour. There will be pick up by the driver from your hotel to airport and when return also got driver send you back to hotel. Great experience.

The guide Bilal was very friendly and suited the itinerary to our preferences which we absolutely enjoyed! The transfer was awesome too. Thank you Umut, the person in charge I was in contact with for the timely responses even during midnight. Really thank you very much! Definitely a good experience thanks to them.

We took a private day tour to visit Pammukkale from Istanbul. Ibrahim was a great guide. Very informative about the history of Pammukkale. Overall had a great experience, especially enjoyed swimming in the Cleopatra pool.

We had a great time with Umut at Pammakule. The trip was very well organized, Umut was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we had plenty of time to explore the area on our own as well. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone else!
