Private Pablo Escobar Tour Medellin – History & Context

Description
This private Pablo Escobar tour is designed for travelers who want to understand Medellín beyond the headlines. It is a historical and educational experience — we do not glorify or celebrate Pablo Escobar, but instead focus on understanding the context, causes, and consequences of that period. Throughout the tour, we explore different perspectives on Colombia’s past and discuss the impact that drug trafficking had on the country. The goal is to provide a deeper understanding of how Medellín has transformed into a safer city. Starting from your accommodation, we will visit several key locations connected to this history: The cemetery, The Memorial Park, a space for reflection on the victims and the impact of violence The neighborhood he donated in the early 1980s, offering insight into his social and political strategy The house and rooftop where he died This experience is about gaining a balanced and respectful understanding of a complex chapter in Colombia’s history.

Daniel is a great guide. He contacted us prior to the tour to confirm and arrived on time. He speaks great English and showed us all the sites in the tour with lots of information. He gave the perspective of the locals from different points of view. He gave us recommendations. Most importantly he is a fabulous person and we both thoroughly enjoyed our day with him.
What a lovely couple, thanks for booking with us, it was a challenge to do a tour with such knowledgeable and clever couple like you, but these are the tours we enjoy the most! Thanks for your insights, willingness and kindness. All the best to you
Our guide, Mateo, was very knowledgeable and told us many things we did not know. He was very objective and brought the history to life. There were some sad moments as the history is very sad. Mateo was a good driver and looked after us very well, he gave us tips for other things to do and offered to answer any questions we had, even after the tour
We are glad and proud the guide went the extra mile for you. If there is anything else we can help you with, just let us know. Best regards!
We did this tour with Eddie. He picked us up at the Hostel and during the car rides to the different spots he talked about the painful and bloody history. It was extremely interesting and also very reflective. I can highly recommend doing the tour because Eddie made it very special, we ask tons of questions and learned about the transformation of the now beautiful city Medellin.
Thanks Julia, we gradually change the perception on Medellin, and that is thanks to people like you, who go deeper and question this topics, in a very respectful and polite manner. Thanks again!
We didn’t came to Medellin because of that story but got a recommendation for this tour. So we went with Eddie (our guide) to all the important places you need to know. He gave a very respectful and transparent view on that part of the history of Columbia. We think it is important to know what happened in the past and he gave us, with respect to the victims, an great overview as a eyewitnesses. Thank you very much Eddie!
This is just history, we do not glorify nor idolize Pablo. That is it, we truly appreciate your review!
