Itinerary
We start our day from your Cruise ship in the beautiful town of Cobh or your Hotel In Cork City. We start our tour and make our way to the amazing Rock Of Cashel.
Nestled in the heart of County Tipperary, the Rock of Cashel is a towering tribute to Ireland's rich history and cultural legacy. A visit to this ancient site provides a unique view into the past, with a stunning collection of mediaeval architecture and artefacts. Here are some compelling reasons why the Rock of Cashel is a must-see site. The Rock of Cashel is well-known for its remarkable collection of mediaeval buildings, which includes the famed St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Round Tower, and the well preserved Cormac's Chapel. The latter, a Romanesque church, boasts stunning murals and one of the best-preserved Irish sarcophagi. The architectural mastery demonstrated at Cashel demonstrates the beauty and ability of early Irish builders and gives a stunning landscape that is also educational.
Leaving the Rock of Cashel, a short and scenic drive brings you to the imposing Cahir Castle, one of Ireland’s largest and best-preserved medieval fortresses. Magnetically cited on a rocky island in the River Suir, this 13th-century stronghold feels like stepping directly onto a movie set—and it often is, having featured in major productions like The Green Knight and Excalibur. Because this is a private tour, you can explore this formidable defensive structure entirely at your own pace. Wander through the outer ward, gaze up at the working portcullis, and marvel at the ingenious medieval design that made this castle virtually impregnable. Your guide will bring the stone to life with gripping tales of the powerful Butler family and the dramatic sieges that shaped Irish history.
As we conclude our great trip of Cork We reach the town of Cobh. It is recognised as the Titanic's last port of call before departing in 1912. You'll notice where the passenger boarded. You'll view the stunning Cathedral Church of St Colman, often known as Cobh Cathedral or Queenstown Cathedral, as well as the famed deck of cards. Finally, I will transport you back to your cruise ship or Cork City hotel, and until we meet again, I wish you a safe journey.

We met up with Derek after flying into Dublin Airport and taking a bus to Cork. He was waiting for us at the meeting point, restroom keys in hand, and then we quickly headed for Rock of Cashel. Derek was happy to answer all our questions along the way. After our Cashel tour with a local guide, Derek took us to Middleton Distillery for a tour, tasting and lunch. He got us there on time and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We made a special request ahead of time to see a sculpture not far from the Distillery and he fit that into the day quite seamlessly. We ended the day in Cobh where we were spending the night, and he took us to St Colman's Cathedral and along the street where the deck of cards houses are located. He gave so many details about the various places we visited and took great photos which he sent to us at the end of the tour. There's no way we would have been able to fit everything in on our own and it was a lovely experience to be so well cared-for in our profoundly jet-laggy state! I highly recommend Derek to anyone visiting Ireland who is looking for a unique and very personal experience.
