Itinerary
We will meet and greet our group on the dock at Berth 2 near the Rock Statue.
As we drive through historical Ketchikan you will learn about the town's colorful past.
At Rotary Beach we will have time to explore an Alaskan Beach. Our guides will point out the flora and fauna, some that only live in this niche ecosystem. If the tide is right, we can look for tide pool creatures. The view out over Nichols passage makes for the perfect photo opportunity. This is also a great spot to scan for wildlife (not guaranteed). *Due to traffic/road construction/tides/changing Ketchikan Borough regulations another beach may be substituted for this visit
This stop includes scenic views of Herring Cove. Herring cove is home to the sight of one of our many fish hatcheries. Our guide might even share a story of running around the hatchery as a kid. This sight is an excellent spot to look for eagles and other wildlife (not guaranteed). *This stop may be substituted for another stopped based on traffic/road construction (Especially for tours leaving out of Ward Cove).
Our last stop is at amazing waterfall that is just a few steps off the road. This stop also puts you into the heart of the rainforest here in Ketchikan. If it is in season, you might even get to see our amazing salmon berries in bloom. *This stop may not apply for tours leaving out of Ward Cove
As we drive back to town, we will make our way along the Tongass Narrows where you can hear about the rich fishing history of Southeast Alaska. If time allows, we will make one final photo stop looking out over Nichols Passage.

Tristan was a wonderful guide. We enjoyed many stops, saw a beautiful waterfall and lots of interesting creatures at the tidal pool. Conversation was easy, felt very comfortable asking questions and no awkward gaps.
We had a good time! Tristan took us to Rotary Beach and Herring Cove. We were able to see a bear in the wild, salmon, and lots of eagles. He dropped us off at Creek street at our request.
Excellent trip. Nice driver with an awesome VW bus. Comfortable and enjoyable. Beautiful scenery and we saw two eagles.
We had a wonderful time touring Ketchikan with Tristan. He is a local guide, who taught us a lot about the community, the history, the culture and nature. He was personable and friendly and did a wonderful job with my dad and girls.
Great Adventure- you have to ride this bus !
Tristan and Ashley were AMAZING. If your looking for a private tour for just you and your family, this is the way to go! Not only did we see all the major points for sight-seeing, but Tristan showed my boys how to find little crabs on the beach and other sea critters, this was an absolute highlight for them the whole rest of our AK trip!
My group of six enjoyed this tour. We hit an exceptional weather day in Ketchikan and Tristan made the most of it. The sights we enjoyed and learned about the area while at it. Neat vehicle made it even better.
Don’t book a cruise ship tour! Book this instead! This was a huge highlight of our trip! Local knowledge and information was awesome! Guides are super nice and very knowledgeable! Bus was cool and comfortable! Loved it thank you!
Tristan is very knowledgeable about all things wildlife in Ketchikan. We had so much fun with him and he went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend this tour if you want something different without big crowds.
Tristan was very knowledgeable and kind to our family. The VW was a treat to ride in around the area. He explained a lot of information about the town, mountains, sea levels, eagles, etc. Tristan answered our questions easily and shared as much as he could in our timeframe. The local waterfall was next to the side of the road and many tour operators stop here for the photo opportunity. Tristan was not hurriedly getting us through this as the other guides were. We appreciated his patience, helping some of us up through the stones and took our pictures. It was a nice day with a great personal touch.
