Itinerary
We will meet you at the horse riding point and start our tour. On the way you get to see many of Petra caves and attractions; the traveler will reach the SIQ, which is the ancient main entrance leading to the city of Petra, starts at the Dam and ends at the opposite side of the vault, a split rock with a length of about 1200m and a width of 3 to 12m, and height up to about 80m; At the beginning of the Siq, one can still view the remains of the city’s gate. On both sides of the Siq, there are channels to draw water from Wadi Musa (the Valley of Moses). The siq opens up onto Petra’s most magnificent Scene, Alkhaznh. It is almost 40 meters high and intricately decorated with Corinthian capitals, friezes, figures and more.
.The Nabataean temple of Qasr Al-Bint is standing within a large paved temenos to a height of 23m. it is surrounded by a peribolos, an enclosure wall, to which seats were added during the time of King Aretas IV. The traveler can discover a chambers had balcony roofs, accessible through stairways logged in the walls.
It is a name given to the row of monumental Nabataean tombs carved in the southern cliff face that lies past the Treasury and adjacent to the outer Siq., that when you pass the Treasury, the Siq begins to widen gradually as it reaches into an open area. On both sides, there are a number of Nabataean burial interfaces decorated with grindstones along with other decorations.
It is preceded by a deep courtyard with colonnades on two sides. High up in the facade there are 3 niches which give on to small burial chambers, but which was adapted in 446 AD to serve as a Byzantine church

It was a beautiful and unique experience. I was able to see Petra from a completely different perspective, enjoy places that I would not have been able to go to as a regular tourist. I also enjoyed tea made on a fire in the rocks. Mohammed is a very nice and helpful guide and I felt safe with him. He knows every stone there and is happy to show and explain everything to you.
The trip was amazing - we trekked “behind” the scenes at Petra and got views that can’t be seen from the main road. The horses were well behaved and easy to ride and the guides were excellent.
Very pleasant ride on the horse where all the time was taken to enjoy the view. Here and there a small hike to discover the hidden viewpoints. My guide Mohammad gave a lot of explanations and answered all questions with extra explanations. Definitely recommended!!
Mohammad is attentive to his horses and visitors, he knows the site very well and shares it with us with pleasure without counting his time.
Absolutely loved my experience on the Petra tour! I was blown away by the sheer beauty. My guide’s knowledge of Nabataean history and the fascinating stories behind each monument made the experience even more memorable. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I be back soon!
Great tour! Great communication prior to, during, and after the tour. Mohammad is a great horseman and made sure that we were safe and comfortable. The horses were well cared for and well behaved. We did this tour the day after we visited Petra and it was a great way to see Petra from a different angle. It is also a great way to enter the park and to finish your walking tour after the horse ride. Highly recommended!!
This was an all round amazing experience! Having never ridden a horse before, I had the gentlest and kindest horse called Susan who was lovely, calm and easy to direct. Our guides were both patient and knowledgable, showing us views off the beaten track to give us a better tour of Petra. We travelled on horse to the High Place of Sacrifice and then walked without guides along the main trail back to the entrance of Petra. Would absolutely recommend doing this experience to explore Petra.
Absolutely loved our tour, such a good tour. With limited horse riding experience we felt comfortable the entire time, even if some of the horses had strong personalities, (Angela the horse provided a lot of entertainment, even if she was a diva). Our guide was very knowledgable and a great horse riding teacher and provided many hidden views of Petra. Overall a wonderful experience and a unique way to view the sights of Petra.
Was an amazing tour, there was very little to no experience with horses in our group, the horses and Mohammad were very patient with us. Was a brilliant morning, would definitely recommend!
From the moment I booked the trail tour, I was contacted by Mohammed who answered all my questions and explained everything I needed to know before the tour. The trail tour was amazing! Mohammed (another brother) took us on the trail and we stopped at many beautiful viewing location. Although I am an experienced rider and my husband has no riding skills, Mohammed led us and guided us all the way. The horses were very skilled that we confidently rode up the mountain confidently and comfortablely. I would recommend this trail to anyone even if you had no experience in riding. Both brothers Mohammed were very professional, warm and friendly. Their hospitality is beyond what I expected and I am grateful that they took us up later in the evening to watch the sunset. We will definitely come back again, hopefully soon. 😍
