Great Mother-Son Time!

I took my 14-year-old son on his first deep-sea fishing trip, and it was a memorable experience! If you’re expecting a large, luxury fishing charter, this probably isn’t the trip for you. It was by far the smallest fishing boat I’ve ever been on, but honestly, that didn’t matter to us. One thing to be aware of is the meetup process at the dock. While it’s fairly straightforward, there are many people around who will approach you offering to help you find your boat or trying to sell additional trips, often expecting a tip in return. It’s best to politely decline these offers and wait until you connect with the actual crew you’re booked with. Captain Felipe worked hard to get us on fish, and we caught several throughout the trip. We had a great time on the water, and it was a fun first ocean fishing experience for my son. A couple things to know before you book: because the boat is small, you’ll get splashed quite a bit, and it can feel chilly, so I’d definitely recommend wearing extra layers. Also, while Captain Felipe was friendly and knowledgeable, there were times when it was difficult to understand his instructions. At one point, I think we may have lost a marlin simply because we weren’t sure what he wanted us to do. Overall, I’d recommend this company if you’re looking for an authentic, laid-back fishing experience rather than a fancy, high-end charter. We had fun, caught fish, and I made great memories with my son.

Operator response

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We truly appreciate your honest feedback, and we’re especially happy to hear that your son’s first deep-sea fishing experience was such a memorable one. Knowing that you were able to make great memories together means a lot to us. We’re glad Captain Felipe was able to put you on the fish and provide an authentic day on the water. We also appreciate your comments about the meeting process at the marina and the communication during the trip. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll continue working to make the experience even smoother for our guests. Thank you again for choosing to fish with us. It was a pleasure having you and your son on board, and we hope to welcome you back to Los Cabos for another adventure in the future. Hopefully, next time we’ll land that marlin!

Great solo experience if you want to fish in Cabo!

This was a great experience for my son! We celebrated his 23rd birthday in Cabo and he wanted to fish, but the rest of us don’t fish, so he went solo, just him & the captain! He caught some good fish!! The half day was perfect because he still got to do other activities with the family!

Operator response

Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re honored you chose to celebrate your son’s 23rd birthday with us. We’re thrilled he had a great time fishing and caught some nice fish. It means a lot to hear that the half-day trip was the perfect fit for your family’s plans. We hope to welcome him back for another adventure in Cabo soon! 🎣

Amazing Charter with Captain Neil and Carlos

My first fishing charter was an unforgettable experience thanks to Captain Neil and Carlos! From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone on board had a great time. This was my first charter and every fish I caught was a Personal Best from all the fishing in my life. The fishing was incredible—I ended up catching 12 fish total, including 5 skipjack, 1 needlefish, 2 roosterfish, and 4 mahi-mahi. I even hooked another fish that was stolen by a seal, which made for a pretty memorable story! As someone new to charter fishing, I really appreciated how patient and helpful they were throughout the trip. They took the time to provide guidance, kept us on the fish, and created a fun and exciting atmosphere the entire day. If you're considering a fishing charter, I highly recommend Captain Neil and Carlos. They helped make my first charter experience a huge success, and I can't wait to book another trip with them in the future!

Operator response

Tight lines and see you soon!

Outstanding sport fishing charter.

This was the greatest fishing experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve been on several other fishing charters in Cabo but I actually caught some fish on this one. I caught on Marlin and a Wahoo. The captain was very knowledgeable about the water. We were catching fish immediately. I’m definitely booking this fishing trip again

Operator response

Thank you so much for your amazing review! We’re thrilled to hear this was the best fishing experience you’ve had in Cabo. Congratulations on catching both a Marlin and a Wahoo, that’s an incredible day on the water! Our captain will be very happy to hear your kind words. We truly appreciate your support and can’t wait to welcome you back for another great fishing adventure in Los Cabos.

Great time with Sushi Time

Felipe was great in getting everything set up on the boat for a productive day. Juan Carlos took care of our dock entry and fishing license. We had our first Mahi Mahi about 5 minutes into our trip so that was pretty exciting. The Mahi Mahi jumped several times and was a beautiful neon gold, yellow and blue in the water. We didn’t catch any Marlin but we did see a few jumping. It was a great day and we took our larger Mahi Mahi and had it prepared and cooked in a local marina restaurant (Los Claros). We saw dolphin, turtles, seals and what looked like a barracuda. The boat was small, but Felipe was a master at handling the large swells on the Pacific. We will definitely do this again

Operator response

Thank you so much for the great review. We’re happy to hear you had such an amazing day on the water with Felipe. Catching a Mahi Mahi just minutes into the trip and seeing all the marine life must have been unforgettable. We truly appreciate you choosing us, and we’ll be ready for your next adventure soon.

No frills fishing adventure!

Excellent no frills fishing trip! My wife and I were visiting Cabo for the first time. She wanted to do some Whale watching and sightseeing I decided to book a fishing trip to combo the experience. The boat is small with no bathroom so be prepared we often book fishing trips in the states with similar boats so we knew what to expect. We arrived at 6:30 and the captain and owner were on time and prepared. The owner had our fishing licenses printed and ready. Cash only for the licenses dock fee bait and Ice approximately 100 dollars US. We left the dock stopped for gas and bait and were on the fish within minutes. We had a Mahi and yellow fin tuna on the line by 7 am. Unfortunately a sea lion got the tuna and the Mahi shook the hook after an incredible performance of jumping. Not to worry we were on the fish all morning the captain could spot them way before they hit the line. Within 3 hours our cooler couldn’t hold anymore and after a 45 minute fight with a very large Mahi we were ready to call it a day and enjoy some fish tacos and margaritas. That’s a great problem to have. Bring extra cash for tip and fish cleaning. The fish cleaning station was able to vacuum seal and freeze our catch and had them back at the docks the next day. We saw turtles sea lions dolphins and a close up view of the rocks all the tourists charter boats to see. If you expect a fancy boat this is not the trip to book. But the captain had us on the fish and was just as excited as we were when we hooked up. This was a trip neither of us will ever forget.

Operator response

Thank you so much for the amazing and detailed review! We’re really happy to hear that you and your wife had such a memorable first fishing experience in Cabo with us. You described the trip perfectly. We focus on providing a real fishing adventure with an experienced captain who works hard to keep guests on the fish, and we’re glad you enjoyed that side of the experience. Sounds like you had an action-packed morning between the mahi, tuna, wildlife sightings, and that long fight with the big mahi! We also appreciate you mentioning the boat details and extra costs so future guests know exactly what to expect. Transparency is very important to us. Thank you again for fishing with us and for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to welcome you both back to Cabo for another unforgettable day on the water!

Not the boat you want to be on.

Captain was nice, speaks no English. Boat was not ready to go nor did we leave on time. They buy the fishing license for you, even if you have one they will charge you $30 USDa each when it’s only $204 m.n. You pay extra for bait of course but we only used one of the fish since I was by myself and the first charter of day(he kept it for next charter. You Basically pay to watch him try and fish, I don’t book a sight seeing tour. Honestly pay a little more for another charter. One that shows up on time, and has good gear. Youll be actually paying about $400 USD. Again, nice captain but he won’t be putting you on the fish.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, we truly appreciate your feedback. A couple of things I’d like to clarify, just to provide more context. A few days before each trip, we send a confirmation email explaining the full check-in process, including meeting time and fishing license details. When a guest lets us know in advance that they already have valid licenses, we do not provide or charge for them. When we receive names and ages for licenses, we arrange them on the guest’s behalf. That said, I sincerely apologize if there was any miscommunication on this point. Regarding the license cost you mentioned, the $204 MXN refers to the base rate. The final amount includes state and local taxes, which is why the total differs. As for bait, its use depends entirely on how the fish are responding that day. Some days require very little, while others require more. This is a normal part of fishing and something experienced anglers are familiar with. Our meeting time is 6:30 am, and we are scheduled to depart at 7:00 am. We never, never depart after 7:00 am. We rarely offer noon trips and do not actively promote them. Live bait typically does not survive beyond the five-hour morning trip, which makes it ineffective for afternoon departures. You booked our smallest and most economical boat option. Even so, all of our captains have over 20 years of experience and work hard to put clients on fish. That said, fishing can be unpredictable, and it’s possible this was simply a slower day. For guests newer to the experience, it can sometimes feel different from what they expected. That said, we do recognize that we could have communicated certain details more clearly, and for that we sincerely apologize. We truly appreciate your comments and will use them to continue improving the experience for our guests. Kind regards

Great experience!! Bonus whale watching

Despite not catching anything we had a great time on our charter! Our captain was so friendly and we saw a bunch of whales super close to our boat. He was really knowledgeable about when to switch bait and where to go looking for fish. We had so much fun and would book again when we’re back in Cabo!

Operator response

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re really glad to hear you still had a great time out on the water. Seeing whales up close like that is always something special, and it’s great that the captain could make the experience enjoyable and informative throughout the trip. Fishing can be unpredictable, but it sounds like you made the most of the day, which is what it’s all about. We truly appreciate your attitude and your trust in us. We’ll be more than happy to have you back next time you’re in Cabo. Hopefully next time we’ll add some great catches to an already amazing experience!

Absolute ripoff

Don't waste your money or time. The guy is not organized. He refuses anything less than a $50 tip. The boat is old. Has a hole. No equipment. No life jackets. No updated anything. Brings his friends along with their hands out. Didn't return my change. Trip was NOT 5 hours. No help with fish or anything unless I tipped every time. He claims he only gets paid by tips. I got 5 pieces of bait for $30!He fed the seal part of my bait without asking me. My money. My bait. No help with fish without tipping. Im 75. I have COPD. Ive never been fishing on the ocean and there's no equipment to catch big fish. Old equipment. No life jackets. No safety anything. I want a refund.

Operator response

We sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, as it also allows us to clarify some important points and offer a proper apology where needed. We understand that, being your first time ocean fishing, the experience can feel very different from what you expected. Sportfishing in Los Cabos has its own dynamics, and part of what you experienced may be related to unfamiliarity with how these trips typically operate. We would also like to clarify that we were never informed of your medical condition prior to the trip. Had we been aware, we would have gladly taken extra precautions and provided a more attentive and personalized level of assistance to better accommodate your needs. Our boats are fully certified by the Mexican Coast Guard and comply with all required safety regulations to operate in one of the most important sportfishing destinations in Mexico. This includes life jackets and all required safety equipment, as well as the proper gear for targeting species like marlin. While the equipment may not appear new or modern, it is fully functional, safe, and appropriate for this type of fishing. Regarding the duration of the trip, the schedule was adjusted to accommodate your cruise ship timing, which is something we regularly do to help clients with limited time in port. As for what you described as a “hole,” that is actually the normal water intake system for the bait well, which keeps the bait alive. It is also important to mention that you were able to fish and even take part of your catch with you, which reflects that the activity itself was successful. Concerning the bait, it is standard practice at the end of a trip to dispose of any leftover bait. In our case, as part of a local tradition, it is given to “Pancho,” the sea lion that often greets boats upon return. We understand this may have been unexpected, and we apologize for not explaining it beforehand. About tipping, we want to be very clear: it is completely voluntary. This is stated in writing to all clients prior to the trip. We are sorry if at any point you felt pressured, as that is not our intention. Regarding your change, you are correct. We owed you three dollars, and unfortunately we did not have $1 bills available at the time, so it remained pending. We sincerely apologize for that inconvenience. As mentioned, it could have been deducted from the tip, but we understand this should have been handled better on our end. Regarding assistance during fishing, our crew follows a hands-on approach. Unless a client specifically requests otherwise, the captain allows guests to actively participate in the fishing experience, including handling the rod and engaging in the process themselves. We truly regret that your experience did not meet your expectations. While several aspects are related to the normal nature of sportfishing, we do recognize that some things could have been communicated more clearly and handled with greater care.
