The pink house as it is called in English occupies the entire east side of the square. This is the centre of presidential power in Argentina. The Casa Rosada is especially famous for Evita Perón’s balcony scenes in the late 1940s.
It is a well-preserved area characterized by its colonial buildings. Cafes, tango parlors, and antique shops line the cobblestone streets, which are often filled with artists and dancers.
La Boca is a working-class area with a cluster of attractions near the Riachuelo River.
Torre de los Ingleses, or English tower, is a Renaissance-style clocktower completed in 1916 as a gift from Buenos Aires' British community to celebrate Argentina's independence.
La Recoleta Cemetery is a cemetery located in the Recoleta neighbourhood. It contains the graves of notable people, including Eva Perón, presidents of Argentina, Nobel Prize winners.
