Itinerary
Visit an animal farm and interact and feed them. At this place you find Ostriches, Llamas, Alpacas, Horses, Ponies & Miniature Donkeys, Donkeys & Mules, Cows & "Vacas Paturras", Koi Fish, rabbits and Goats & Little Pigs. We include bags of carrots and fish food to feed them in case you want to do it. It's a beautiful place and very enjoyable for both adults and children. Since our tour is private we can skip this stop and spend more time in the rock or the town or we can do an exotic fruit tasting instead. Since Colombia is the most diverse country in the world in fruit production, as we grow over 430 fruits throughout our territory the exotic fruit tasting is also an interesting activity. This is why we think we should take you to a fruit stand to try some of them. In this short stop we provide you different exotic fruits you probably didn’t even know existed, with intense sour or sweet flavors.
The drive from the fruits to the coffee farm is around 35 minutes but is full of beautiful sceneries of kale plantations, onion, sugar cane, coffee, tomatoes and hundreds of mountains silhouettes. The coffee you enjoy each day has taken a long journey to arrive in your cup, with this complementary tour you get to know this amazing journey in detail. Right before getting to the Guatapé rock we have the opportunity to visit a wonderful coffee plantation which is definitely one of the most authentic tours you can do in Colombia. Between the time coffee beans are planted, picked and purchased, they go through a typical series of steps to bring out their best. The coffee production stages you will see are: • Planting • Picking the ripen beans selectively • Depulping • Fermenting and washing • Drying • Millling • Roasting
After this memorable visit to the coffee farm we continue our journey to the Rock of Guatape (also known as Peñol). As we drive we start telling you all the history of the rock: components, owners, when was it climbed up and more interesting facts. Once we get there you get the chance to climb up it. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down. Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen. This is not only our opinion but that of thousands of tourists we have taken there. At the top there are several shops where you can buy water, beer and many other items and sit down to appreciate the view of the lake, tiny islands and country houses. Whenever you feel ready to start going down we'll be ready waiting for you to continue our adventure to one of the most colorful towns in the country: Guatape town.
The drive to Guatape from the rock is only 10 to 15 minutes. At this town we take a fully narrated walking tour through the town's landmarks such as the church, main square, remembrance street, Zocalos Square and more. Once the walking tour has concluded we take you to the best restaurant in town to have a traditional delicious lunch (not included in the tour) where you have more than 20 different options to try the local cuisine accompanied of a cold sangria or a craft beer. After we finish our lunch and walking tour in this beautiful Guatape town we head back to Medellin in our comfortable private car with a smile in our faces and full of good memories and probably some gifts for our family back home.

We had an absolutely fantastic day on this tour and can highly recommend it! Combining Guatapé with a visit to a coffee farm was the perfect way to experience two highlights of the region in just one day. A huge part of what made the tour so special was our guide, Erika. She was incredibly kind, warm and friendly from the very beginning and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire day. She is also extremely knowledgeable and shared so much interesting information about the region, Colombian culture, coffee production and Guatapé without ever making it feel like a lecture. Everything was well organized, relaxed and personal, and Erika always took the time to answer our questions and adapt the day to us. Our day with Erika was truly amazing! From the very beginning, she was incredibly kind, warm, and attentive. She really listened to what we wanted and adjusted the entire tour to our interests and comfort, which made us feel so well taken care of throughout the day. We started with breakfast, then visited Guatapé, climbed the Rock, and explored the town. One of the best parts was that she didn’t just show us the famous tourist attractions, she also took us to beautiful hidden spots that we would never have found on our own. The tour was excellent, the most important thing for us was that the guide Erika was always and at all times willing to help with everything, she never rushed you with the timing, she suggested cool things, and my daughters enjoyed her company.
We loved this experience. It was a group of 8 of us and Erika was amazing. We tried exotic fruits, went to Guatape, and ended at a coffee farm. Everything was a 10/10 experience but my favorite was the coffee farm it had a very local vibe to it. Definitely recommend to everyone :)
This was an amazing day tour. Our guide Erika was fantastic from the moment of picking us up at the hotel to the very end. She was very knowledgeable, shared so many tips, accommodated our request to come back a bit earlier and generally was a very pleasant company for a day.
