In this 9.5 hours tour you will be able to visit the rock, to walk around the pictoresque Guatape town and learn its history with our certified bilingual tour guides. And last but not least the paragliding flight will be an unforgettable experience since you will be flying over mountains, rivers and towns. The green color of the mountains is so vivid that together with a 90 meters (295 ft) beautiful waterfall make you feel that you are flying over a paradise. Itinerary
After we pick you up at your place the drive to the paragliding spot is a bit more than an hour in an enjoyable drive through the mountains. We accompany you throughout the whole process such as help you with the insurance registration, keeping your belongings safe and taking the best photos of you during take off, flying and landing. We do this activity with certified and experienced local pilots that provide safe and fun flights using the safest equipments. The pilot will give you the instructions to take off and what to do in the air. This paragliding flight will be an unforgettable experience since you will be flying over mountains, rivers and towns. The green color of the mountains is so vivid that together with a 90 meters (295 ft) beautiful waterfall make you feel that you are flying over a paradise. The flight lasts around 15 minutes depending on weather conditions and the altittude is close to 5000ft (1550 mts). After this adventure, ready to climb up an impressive rock?
The drive from the paragliding to the rock is around 1 hour but is full of beautiful sceneries of kale plantations, onion, sugar cane, coffee, and dozens of mountains silhouettes. As we drive we start telling you all the history of the rock: components, owners, when it was climbed and more interesting facts about this mysterious monolith. Once we get there you get the chance to climb it up. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down. Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen. This is not only our opinion but that of thousands of tourists we have taken there. At the top there are several shops where you can buy water, beer and many other items and sit down to appreciate the view of the lake, tiny islands and country houses Whenever you feel ready to start going down we'll be ready waiting for you to continue our adventure to one of the most colorful towns in the country
The drive to Guatape from the rock is only 10 to 15 minutes. At this town we take a fully narrated walking tour through the town's landmarks such as the church, main square, remembrance street, Zocalos Square and more. Once the walking tour has concluded we take you to the best restaurant in town to have a traditional delicious lunch (not included in the tour) where you have more than 20 different options to try the local cuisine accompanied by a cold sangria or a craft beer. After we have seen all the beautiful places this town has to offer we start our journey back to Medellin, with a smile in your face and full of good memories and photos. All in all, you should not miss out this Guatape and Paragliding tour, it allows you to enjoy the beauty of this region in a different and fun way.

Pickup Locations & Times
Please be aware our Paragliding site is not located in Guatape but in the way to Guatape (half-way from Medellin to Guatape), We provide pick up and drop off in any neighborhood in El Poblado and Laureles District or at the international airport Jose Maria Cordova. We cannot provide pick up in Guatape or anywhere close to Guatape for this tour however we can drop you off in Guatape after the tour is finished if that's what you need. We pick up travelers anywhere as long as it is in El Poblado, Laureles. If your place is not listed please don't worry just enter the name of the hotel/building or the address manually and we'll be there.

Our tour to Guatape and paragliding was incredible. We had a great experience and highly recommend it. Our tour guide Erika was super friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. We even had great laughs while jamming to Colombian music.
T his tour was honestly one of the highlights of my entire trip to Colombia. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised, seamless, and so much fun – and that’s all down to our incredible guide, Erika. Erika was absolutely fantastic. Her attention to detail was next-level – she made sure every part of the day ran smoothly while also tailoring the experience to exactly what we wanted. She genuinely cared about making the day special for us, constantly checking in, adjusting the pace, and making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. The paragliding experience was AMAZING – such a thrill and the views were unreal. Erika was an outstanding guide—the best we had on our trip. She is exceptionally kind, engaging, and deeply knowledgeable. Her understanding of Colombian history goes far beyond Guatapé and El Peñón, which added real depth to the experience. Although only one person in our group was ultimately able to paraglide, Erika went above and beyond to try to make it work for everyone. Her effort, enthusiasm, and passion truly elevated the tour. Highly recommended, especially if you have the chance to go with Erika.
I had such a wonderful time: still looking at all my pictures from this day. Yuly picked me up from my hotel and was an incredible host, I feel like we became good friends by the end. Her English was great (my Spanish is ok but it was so nice to have deep insight on this area in my own language) I went paragliding and the day was beautiful weather: very professional and friendly people! We explored Guatape and I climbed El Peñol which was also lovely. Lunch was amazing traditional fare at El Fogota Overall stellar experience. I couldn’t not say more good things about this tour group and my guide. Thank you all again!
