Itinerary
Experience the extraordinary beauty of the desert of Wadi Rum, the rosy red sand with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors on this private full day trip from Amman. Set off by your private, comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to the protected desert valley of the moon, located 4 hours south of Amman with your English – Speaking Driver who doubles up as your guide. Enjoy the views as you travel southward through Jordan’s desert landscapes toward the towering cliffs of Wadi Rum.
Extending across a huge chunk of south Jordan, this protected valley boasts towering sandstone mountains, craggy river beds, and steep gorges; all coated in a kaleidoscope of natural rock colors, from pinks to vivid reds. Explore its spectacular beauty spots in a 2-hour tour by 4x4 Jeep with a Bedouin Driver who is your Local Guide. Photo shoot at The Martian and Star Wars: The Rise of Sky Walker Movie Spot, explore the walk on the moon and mars, trundle through narrow gorges and red desert plains past crimson dunes, natural rock bridges and towers. Amongst this emptiness and silence, visit the seven pillars of wisdom, and the holographic pictures carved before Christ. View ancient inscriptions, and the Lawrence of Arabia Spring; a hidden oasis made famous by T.E. Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia, where the movie has taken place.
During WWI, this British officer and archaeologist fought here alongside the Bedouin Arabs against the Ottoman Turks, basing his headquarters in the valley. Many Wadi Rum sites are named after this still-revered British soldier. Have your camera ready as you pass through narrow gorges and plains, framed by natural rock arches, towering buttes, ancient caves, and red dunes. Visit a Bedouin tent to enjoy a glass of refreshing local mint tea and meet the friendly locals. If you wish, upgrade your tour to include another two hours jeep tour to visit the large bridge or upgrade to a 30-minute camel ride in the desert for your exploration to make your visit extra special.
When the time comes, reconvene with your driver and relax on your ride back to Amman, where your day trip finishes back at your hotel.

Yes, 4.5 hours seems a long time to drive to Wadi Rum from Amman, but we’re glad we did it. Our driver/guide Basel provided extensive history and commentary during the car ride since this was our first day in Jordan. His English was very good and easy to understand. He was very kind and helpful with my husband who has a bum knee. Our tour included lunch buffet at Sun City camp, a two-hour jeep tour through the wadi with our Bedouin driver/guide Tariq who was equally knowledgeable, personable and kind as Basel, and then a camel ride which made for a most memorable travel experience. The only thing we wish we had done was spend the night in one of the camps, but we had to meet up with a group the next day so this was a one day excursion.
Thank you. Looking forward to having you, your family, and friends with us again
This place is amazing. The beauty of the desert is real. And you feel completely immersed in nature, almost expecting Lawrence and a band of Bedouins to come charging down a valley. Serene landscape and thanks to our driver Hassan it was a complete experience, totally awesome. If I could I’d give it six stars because this was just awesome!
Thank you. Looking forward to having you, your family, and friends with us again
I had the opportunity to visit Wadi Rum with Zaid Travel and Tourism and it was an exceptional experience. Particularly, my driver Basel was amazing and extremely accommodating to my needs. I was alone and he made my trip much better. The tour included a pick up at my hotel in Amman, 4 hour drive in a hybrid vehicle with AC and Wi-Fi. Then lunch at Wadi Rum visitor center. Followed by 45 minute camel ride, and a two hour 4*4 Jeep tour through the dessert including te with the Bedouins and multiple stops in places such as the water steps, Lawrence and King Hussein’s cave, and other places of natural wonder. Please note that because I chose the Jordan Pass package, my fee to the park was waved. However, all other expenses (besides transportation) were assumed separately. 35 JOD for the 4*4 Tour ( for me alone, may be cheaper in groups); 15 JOD for the Camel Ride and 12 JOD for the lunch. Will recommend this experience highly!!! Thanks Basel and Zaid Travels Weather was perfect in October.

He chartered a microbus with his friends. Although my goal was to stargaze, I also enjoyed Bedouin life.

We were very pleased with our tour guide, he was very helpful and professional. The trip was well organised. Wonderful views!

Our driver, Amer from Zaid Tours, was excellent. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and we made the three hour drive to Wadi Rum. Zaid Tours had arranged a private guided tour and a camel ride, with lunch. We had a great time and learned a lot from Amer about not just the area but the history as well. He was great. He took the time to make a video of us on our camel ride and surprised us by sending it electronically that same evening. It was a great experience overall. Zaid Tours, and Amer, provided excellent service.

Wadi Rum is a real wonder of nature. Friendly, knowledgeable guide. Multiple stops for viewing the landscapes. Camels and trinkets available. Day well spent.
Thank you. Looking forward to having you, your family, and friends with us again.

Outstanding time, great driver, and really a must see on short time in Jordan.
