Discover Salzburg’s fascinating history and heritage as you follow your guide to sights like Mozart's birthplace, the festival area of Kapitelplatz, the grand Salzburg Residenz and the Baroque Salzburg Cathedral. Once there, see more ‘The Sound of Music’ filming locations such as St. Peter’s Abbey, where the Trapp-family hid, and stroll the magnificent Mirabell Palace gardens, where the song ‘Do-Re-Mi’ was recorded. You will get the opportunity to have lunch (own expense), then spend the afternoon exploring Salzburg on your own. Perhaps ride the funicular (own expense) to the hilltop Hohensalzburg fortress, visit the Mozart museum or shop for souvenirs in this UNESCO-world heritage site. After a great day, travel back to Vienna around 5.00pm, where you’ll end your tour with drop-off at your hotel around 8.00pm.

It was “okay” but should have chosen either another tour operator or a different tour all together. Everything felt rushed. If you really want the “full” Sound of Music” experience definitely choose another tour.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience, but we always try to cover as much as possible in one day tour. But you have to remember that its a one day tour from Vienna which takes a maximum of 13hrs and only travel time to Salzburg from Vienna is 3hrs one way. Our guide in Salzburg and our drivers try to cover all the highlights and you can always change the tour as its a private tour and fully flexible.
Richard was an amazing driver and was always making sure we were ok, if we needed to stop, and flexible to meet our wishes. Tanya was also very flexible as she toured us around Salzburg catering to us and what we wanted to see. I would recommend this tour and ask for Richard to be your driver. Amazing time!
