I hate to write a negative review, but I feel compelled to share the facts. Our driver picked us up 20 minutes late. When she arrived, she asked where we were going. Although we didn't pay for a guide, we had paid for an itinerary, so this was surprising. On our way to Sintra, she wasn't paying attention to the GPS and missed our exit, adding another 30 minutes to our trip. At this point, we were already almost an hour behind. We finally reached the main palace, and that went well. Next, she took us to the city, but instead of dropping us off in the town center, she left us 20 minutes away by foot and only gave us a general direction. Luckily, I had my own GPS. She was about to skip our next stop, but we insisted on going to Quinta da Regaleira to walk down the well. On the way there, she missed the turn, and since the streets are one-way, it added another 25 minutes to our drive. When we arrived, there weren't any tickets available for another hour, and since we were already so far behind schedule, we had to skip it, which was very disappointing. I wish we had been given better advice about purchasing tickets for Quinta da Regaleira in advance, although I'm not sure it would have mattered due to the delays. We skipped Cabo da Roca and went straight to Cascais, which was a nice area to walk around and eat. We ended up arriving back at our hotel late. Overall, this experience was a huge disappointment.
Miguel was our guide and driver. He knew the best places to explore and gave us total freedom to explore away from the crowds. The restaurant he suggested for our lunch was superb. Fabulous food, great service, and reasonably priced. Our day was very relaxing and no rush, rush to keep up and get everything done. Miguel was a very helpful, friendly, and fun person.
This tour never happened! We were at the designated pickup point 15 minutes early and waited 30 minutes. Nobody showed up. We called the company; they hung up on us. We called back; they put us on hold. We asked our hotel manager to call them for us and they told him they had no driver for us—nothing they could do. Viator should not be selling tours from this company!
Great trip, with comfort and safety. I was well received on the go and return of the tour. All doubts and curiosities about the place, I was cured.
We were met at the airport by Tiago and instantly felt like we had been met by our own son. What a treasure of a person and we asked if he would be available to show us his town on one of the following days. A plan was made and he collected us bright and early headed for Sintra. The day was memorable in that we saw a lot in a relaxed way. The local knowledge and Tiago's calm nature meant a long and full day was a pleasure. We hope to return to Lisbon and a day with Tiago would be top on our list. (sorry I have taken so long to finally write a review Tiago!)
We visit Quinta da Regaleira, the Pena Palace, and still have an opportunity to enjoy Piriquita. Our lunch was on the beach, a wonderful fresh fish in a wonderful restaurant recommended by our guide, in the afternoon we visited Cabo da Roca and Cascais. We love it, if you want to make good tours, hire Tours4Lisbon, it is satisfaction guaranteed.
Tiago picked us up at the airport and he was so informative and kind that we hired him for two day trips! We had a wonderful tour of Sintra! Tiago was the best tour guide. He brought us to all the sights and had a great recommendation for lunch! We had the best "Sinatra pillows" - wonderful pastry breakfast. He also brought us to Fatima for a day trip! If you want to get around Lisbon/Portugal hire Tiago!
