Private Alexandria Tour

We toured Alexandria in a car with a guide and driver for the day. Fantastic way to do a day tour. The guide was very good, helpful and spoilt us with a wonderful lunch, cold drinks and ice cream. Would definitely recommend doing this tour. It is the best way to see the sites of Alexandria

Another on-time pick up. Great. I...

Another on-time pick up. Great. I booked this trip b/c it entailed a 3 hour drive which allowed me to see parts of Egypt, albeit driving on the road. Wished I had another guide. His first interest was my marital and family status travelled by myself. He fell asleep for 20 minutes less than half way to Alex and periodically nodded off on the way back. The driver kept looking at him in disbelief.,,I felt the same way.

I had two other guides who spoke and understood English better than he did. He told me before we went into the library at Alex that I could not take pictures. He again mentioned it several times and I repeatedly asked where are the signs that said I could not. Lo and behold, people were taking pictures. And no such signs existed. Hmmm! I have to say that particular guide was off putting in many ways. He gave me information on the tours of the places we visited such as the Citadel and a burial tomb that I could have read myself. In fact, I did just that b/c I couldn't understand him at times.

The driver, on the other hand, was awesome. He spoke very little English so there wasn't much of any communication. However, he handled the traffic skillfully and is to be recommended for that. And let it be known that driving in Cairo is a skill that is a must.
