Nizwa Souq is one of the oldest and most vibrant markets in Oman, located in the historic city of Nizwa. It offers a unique blend of traditional Omani culture, architecture, and trade, making it a must-visit destination for travelers. Al Hamra Village is one of the best-preserved traditional villages in Oman, located at the foot of the Hajar Mountains, near Nizwa. Known for its centuries-old mudbrick houses, narrow alleyways, and stunning mountain backdrop, Al Hamra offers visitors an authentic experience of Omani history and culture. Ancient Mudbrick Houses Many of the houses in Al Hamra date back 200–400 years and are built using traditional Omani architecture with mud, stone, and palm fronds. Some houses are still inhabited, while others have been abandoned, creating a beautifully preserved historical site.
A Stunning Mountain Village Misfat Al Abriyeen is one of Oman’s most picturesque and well-preserved traditional villages, located in the Al Hajar Mountains, near Al Hamra. This 2,000-year-old village is famous for its stunning terraced farms, ancient stone houses, and traditional falaj irrigation system. Unlike many other villages in Oman that have mudbrick houses, Misfat Al Abriyeen is unique for its stone-built homes, giving it a distinctive charm. The houses are built on the mountainside, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The village is known for its beautiful date palm and banana plantations, which thrive due to its efficient falaj irrigation system. Walking through the green terraces feels like stepping back in time, as locals still farm using traditional methods.
After exploring the historic Nizwa Fort, vibrant Nizwa Souq, charming Al Hamra Old Village, and scenic Misfat Al Abriyeen, you will begin your drive back to Muscat. Should you wish to be dropped off at any location within the Muscat area, simply inform our tour guide, and they will be happy to accommodate your request.

For hotel pickups, our guide will wait for the client in the hotel lobby. For airport arrivals, our guide will be at the arrival area holding a signboard with the client’s name. For port pickups, our guide will wait at Port Main Gate 1, also holding a signboard with the client’s name. For other pickup locations, we will contact the client via WhatsApp before the tour starts to coordinate the meeting point.

Mr. Khalid reported at the Hotel at 9.20 am to take us to Nizwa fort. Our scheduled departure was at 9.30 am. He was very courteous and friendly. On our way to the Nizwa he was very friendly and enlightened us about Oman and Omani culture. We are all senior citizens plus and little slow in our movements but he was very patient and guided us through the Souk, Fort and the Castle museum. His commentary and knowledge on Oman’s history was fascinating. He guided us for our small shopping at the Souk and on our way to Al Hamara and Misfat village took us to a nice Yemeni restaurant for lunch. We were very happy with his services and wish him all the very best in his job as a tour guide.

Our trip to Wadi Hawr and the Wahiba Sands Desert was an unforgettable experience filled with beauty, culture, and adventure. We had an amazing day exploring Al Hoota Cave, Misfat Al Abriyeen, and Bahla. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and made history come alive with interesting stories and insights. History, nature, and adventure all in one day! This tour had the perfect mix of culture and nature. Misfah Al Arbiyeen was stunning walking along the mountain paths lined with palm trees and listening to the sound of flowing water from the falaj system was so calming. Al Hamra was like stepping into a different era, and I loved seeing the traditional architecture up close. A great way to escape the heat into Oman's natural wonders.

Authentic and awe-inspiring We were blown away by the authenticity of Al Hamra and Misfah Al Arbiyeen. These villages still feel alive with tradition. We took so many photos stone houses, terraced gardens, and the iconic mountain views. Al Hoota Cave offered something completely different cool temperatures and fascinating rock formations deep below ground. Our guide made the day seamless and full of insights.
