Itinerary
The last stop of the tour is Taqah where the castle and the beach are visited. The castle was built 300 years ago by a Wali and offers an impressive insight into the former life in the castle. You can discover for example old objects of daily use, furniture, clothing and traditional jewelry.
The beach in Taqah fascinates by its white sand and crystal clear water. There is also a cliff right next to the beach from where you have a breathtaking view over the beautiful widths of the beach.
On this tour you will dive into the beauty of the eastern Salalah and be fascinated with what nature and people have to offer. First we will go to Wadi Darbat in the Quara Mountains, where between numerous waterfalls and impressive rock formations the animals of the area gather for drinking at the riverbed.
Jebel Samhan is the highest point in Dhofar region and fascinates with it's panorama view over the landscape. The peak of the mountain is so high that you often find yourself higher than the clouds which makes the experience even more special.
Tawi Ateer means "Well of Birds" and reminds of a scenery from Jurassic Parc. The Taiq Sinkhole is the world's third largest sinkhole measuring 1km in length and 200m in depth.
The baobab trees, which are more common in African flora and fauna, have also found a home in Oman. Threatened with extinction, about 200 exemplars grow in Dhofar, some of which are estimated to be over 300 years old.
The Anti Gravity Point is located at a hill between Mirbat and Salalah. The phenomenon here is that a car put into neutral gear will drive up to 35km/h uphill. There are several theories for this miracle and maybe you are the one solving it…
In the early afternoon we stop at a traditional Arabic restaurant and have lunch. Your guide will have some recommendations for you and will choose the right restaurant according to your preferences. Lunch and drinks, coffee or tea are included in the tour price.
Now we go to a small coastal town called Mirbat, which translated means horse market. The name originated from the trade with horses, spices and frankincense which made Mirbat an important trading port. Even today, magnificent trading houses remind us of the wealth of that time. The fortress of Mirbat was built in the 18th century and is unfortunately not open to tourists, but you have an impressive view from the hill on which the castle stands.

I joined 2 families on this tour and had the pleasure of having Abdulaziz as my tour guide. He was patient, knowledgeable, accommodating and has a good sense of humor. We went to Wadi Darbat Waterfalls, Sinkhole Twi Atir, Samahan Mountain Viewpoint, Gravity point and saw the Baobab Trees. The highlight were the waterfalls. The surrounding area is green and well protected to allow all tourists to view and appreciate. I visited during the first week in July, so although the area was green, it will be advisable to visit later in July or August after the Monsoon starts to see the waterfalls at its peak. Abdulaziz was patient and gave us enough time at each site to enjoy the breathtaking views and provided us with relevant information of each destination. I recommend this tour to anyone visiting Salalah and especially ask for Abdulaziz to be your tour guide 😊 My only concern was the poor bathroom facilities in Salalah but this was no fault of the tour company. However Abdulaziz always tried his best to find alternative ways for me to use the restroom. Thanks again for an amazing tour and look forwarding to visiting Salalah again in the near future.
It's wonderful to hear about your enjoyable experience with Abdulaziz as your tour guide! Exploring the Wadi Darbat Waterfalls and other stunning locations sounds like a fantastic adventure. We're grateful for your kind recommendation and are glad that Abdulaziz's patience and knowledge enhanced your journey. Your feedback about the bathroom facilities is duly noted, and we're pleased that Abdulaziz did his best to accommodate your needs. We can't wait to welcome you back to Salalah for another incredible tour in the near future!
I had a wonderful afternoon! The Wadi Darbat is exactly like the pictures that are seen on tourist agencies websites, and is beautiful. Unfortunately we didn't see the camels swimming, but as there are all over the road, I didn't mind! The guide also took us a little further to taste dates around a good Omani coffee which was very nice, and a good time to talk to us a little more about Omani culture. The Dżabal Samhan is truly breathtaking, especially when there is a little cloud. I also enjoyed seeing the city of Taqah, especially with its mosque with typical Omani architecture. I also warmly thank the guide, who really shared with us different aspects of Omani culture, and his knowledge of the flora and fauna of the places we visited. I highly recommend!
Merci Beaucoup! 😊

It was just great! We love Salalah, Oman. And even plane to visit it again in September. We had the best tour guide ever! 🫶🏻 Salalah is forever in our hearts!
We are pleased to have created an unforgettable memory for you! Hope to see you again soon 🙏
East tour, June 3 We had a wonderful trip with our guide: we had a great time visiting a lot of places: 1. Waterfalls of Wadi Darbat 2. Funnel Twi Atir 3. Observation deck on Mount Samakhan 4. Baobabs 5. Gravity point. We were here in the low season, but maybe this is even a plus, because there were no tourists at all, and the nature was just as amazing. A lot of thanks to the guide for such a wonderful time together: it was very fun and informative. The best guide! 😍
Thank you so much for taking the time writing a review about your experience with us. Best regards from Salalah ☀️
Last October, my boyfriend and I visited Salalah for the first time. We both live in Dubai but we never really thought of Salalah until we found these very cheap tickets (aed 100/$27) and it's only 3h so very convenient. Actually 3 days is absolutely perfect and you don't need more which allows you to go there for a short weekend. We are quite demanding people in general when it comes to travel in the sense that we want the best programme while optimising time and costs. I can tell you that we had the best time ever and I can guarantee you the same if you choose the same guide. One sure thing, you won't be disappointed with Abdul! Before we started the trip, I was in contact with different agencies, and after a few days customising the itinary, I noticed they were starting to say "we will try but", we don't recommend", "we're not sure". And then one day I contacted Salalah4Tourist and Kate was so nice, enthusiastic, positive and flexible. Everything seemed to easy. I told myself straight away let's go with them because at the end of the day, it's a question of feeling. So with no doubt we booked with Salalah4Tourists. Abdul came to pick us up from the airport, at the moment we met we felt warmly welcomed. Wide smile, nice perfume, perfect English, super clean car. He took us to visit the West Side on the first day (half day) and we visited East Side on the 2nd day. The 3rd day we, we visited the city centre on our own. We were not too sure about the season since usually you should come between June and August to enjoy the mansoon season and its green sceneries. In August a few spots are closed because of floods risks and the visibility is less because its humid. The best season to visit Salalah seems to be September. However we were pleased to see that in October, it was still wild with perfect weather and mind-blowing landscapes. Abdul was more than a guide, he treated us like friends. We went extra mile to create a memorable experience and thanks so him, we really had a blast! The experience wouldnt have been the same without him. He took us to the most beautiful and secret places, he drove tirelessly and went extra hours. He told us his stories and listened to ours. He was very open minded, fun, relaxed, patient. He was speaking perfect English and was able to share so much about his country, history, culture and people. We learned a lot and we could feel his pride and passion for the country he calls Home. He accompanied us in camping mode, hiking, and driving for hours. Plus he is a talented photographer and will take beautiful photos throughout your trip. We left 3 days and it felt like 2 weeks. We felt completely recharged thanks to the variety of landscapes, animals we saw, pure and fresh air we breathe, pristine and wild see we jumped in. As a short recap, this is what we visited: 1-Ayn Jarziz spring: nice Waterfall, a bit dry after the Khareef season. Children were playing inside. 2- Mughsail Beach. Beautiful white sand beach 3- Secret Beach view point. Postal card hidden beach. 6- Fazayah Beach. Beautiful beach, with mountains in the background. We found a crab and swam with dolphins. Breathtaking! 7- Frankincense tree trail. Abdul explains the unisco heritage tree and its benefits. The valley looks like Africa. 8. Marneef cave and sunset East tour 1- Sahlniot spring water. Nice green spring water. On the way we saw cows, hundreds of camels. 2-Taqah village and ocean view with landscape that remind Scotland. 3- Darbat water falls: Wonderful oasis, looks like a mirage, a mix of mini jungle with waterfall (mini Niagara falls). This was insanely gorgeous. 4- Ayn Razzat: relaxing Lake between mountains. There is a cafe where you can sit and enjoy the view and you can also enjoy boat/pedalo ride. 5- Tawi attair Sinkhole. Massive hole with wild jungle. We saw eagles and small birds. So calm. So relaxing. So perfect. 5- Samhan mountain: 2120 m altitude overlooking the plane never ending surface. It was impressive and inspiring. Could have stayed for hours. 6- Gravity point fun fact where we defy gravity in our car because of magnetism mechanisms. 9-Ayn Hasheer another Waterfall because we sat on the dunes next to Mirbat and enjoyed stargazing. We recommend Salalah4Tourist and Abdul big time! Shukran Abdul for your hospitality, we'll be back! Have fun 👍 😊

This tour covers the place where the other companies don’t visit. I really enjoyed and saw beautiful nature of Salalah. My guide Abdul took us the several places the whole day. And he respected our will. Also, his recommended local sea food restaurant was amazing. We wouldn’t find such as delicious restaurant in local if he couldn’t take us. Thank you for giving us the unforgettable memories!!
We are happy you enjoyed the tour and could create an unforgettable memory for you! See you soon back here in Salalah. Regards, Salalah4Tourist Team
