What a great experience! I contacted KanKan to see if we could join a tour as there were only 3 of us and they set up a private tour for us at the same cost we would have paid to be with a larger group. Our guide was Rodrigo. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He picked us up exactly on time and proved to be a very good driver. He talked to us enroute about all the things we passed by. He knew a lot of information about the pyramids and tequila distilleries too. He suggested places to eat and see in Tequila town too. We visited Tequila Selecto De Amatitán Distillery, which had very good tequilas and beautiful scenery. Overall it was an excellent day and we will likely use this company again with visiting friends.
We had the best day ever. Alejandro is a fantastic guide. I highly recommend this trip, well worth the money. Awesome to have two tours combined into one.
Alejandro was spectacular. His knowledge and experience made the tour fascinating and interesting. We would highly recommend him!
The history and scenery was amazing!! Alejandro was an amazing guide. Gave us so much information and fun to chat with. His English is very good. We would highly recommend the tour!
Guide was very informative regarding both pyramids and Tequilla. We all enjoyed the tour very much. A great experience exploring the pyramids and tasting Tequilla.
Alejandro was considerate, personable and engaging: creating a fun, memorable experience. He sent a text the day before to confirm our pick up location (our hotel in Ajijic) and time. Door to door service! He was on time and thoughtful in our discussions while driving, asking and answering questions freely. The pyramids and history were interesting, we enjoyed our private and personal tour at the smaller, independent tequila distillery, as well as the tasting which was delicious, and our time spent taking photos in the agave fields. He provided little personal experiences which reflected his attention and listening. We had so much fun tasting crickets during our time in Tequila. Thank you Alejandro for helping to make our day so personal and special!
Having traveled throughout Mexico for years, we decided to expand our horizons by continuing down from Tlaquepaque toward Lake Chapala. After doing some research I chose Ajijic. Also I did more research on Booking.com that I rarely do. I discovered a B&B called LaCasa de La Abuela. What a discovery! The entire family lives and works there, and we soon became part of the family. Ricardo recommended a taxi driver that we used, and Jose became “part of our family”. He would take us to places for dinner that we would never have found, and we gladly had him join us. We also played a 9-hole golf course called Chula Vista CC that was a blast.
Oh, one of the most important aspects of this tour is Alejandro himself. He is an excellent communicator and responds to requests and messages without fail. We had friends visiting from the US and wanted to show off a bit of Mexico in a stress-free way. Alejandro was easy to work with, has a beautiful, roomy new car and is an excellent driver. He is knowledgeable about almost any questions we threw at him about the areas we visited. We never felt rushed or hurried in anyway but we were able to visit the Guachimontones pyramids and archaeological site, as well as the agave fields, a beautiful, bespoke tequila distillery, and the town of Tequila itself. It was a highlight for our guests and I’m sure they will return home with glowing reports of this experience. I highly recommend this tour, having such a knowledgeable guide made the exploration smooth and enjoyable! We would definitely book another trip with this company- top notch!
