Olive trees on both sides of the path leading to the house of the Virgin Mary were planted by Lazarist monks in 1898. The statue of Mary, located at the end of the road with olives, is the gift of a religious community in Izmir and bears the date of 1867. The visit to the Virgin Mary House ends with three fountains reached by descending the stairs on the right after leaving the church. Drinkable water flows from the fountains and from the wells next to the church. Visitors do not only taste this water in the belief that it is healing but also take it with them.
Ephesus Ancient City, which contains the symbols that shed light on the superior urbanization, architecture and religious history of the Hellenistic and Roman periods, has the most important architectural and urban planning examples from different periods. The ancient city, which is completely made of marble, is also very impressive with its architectural structures. Where you will see one of the most magnificent excavations in the world, the ancient city of Ephesus is a remarkable ancient site and you will be able to see every step of the dozens of historical artefacts that include The Odeon, The Fountain of Trajan, The Terraces of Apartment Houses, The stream baths of Scholastika, The temple of Hadrian and impressive Celsus Library which is adorned with columns and statues, and let's not forget about The Magnificent Grand Theater, where Saint Paul preached and is the largest theatre is antiquity with capacity of 24.000 seats.
The Temple of Artemis, a religious building where the people of Ephesus presented their faith to the goddess, was also the meeting point of the people used as a market place. The Temple of Artemis, which only has its basic ruins and a marble column, is one of the most important places to see in Selcuk. The temple of Artemis, the temple of Temenos, the religious section, had the appearance of a small city with public buildings and residences. Far from the sea, surrounded by fertile land, the temple was used as a commercial enterprise. Because it was a safe place, it also functioned as a bank. Private Ephesus Tour From Bodrum The private Ephesus tour, which I chose to go on a magnificent historical journey in Bodrum, was a truly unforgettable experience. Our guide Mr. Harun managed to fascinate us with his knowledge and sincerity. We started our tour in the early hours with a unique Turkish breakfast near Lake Bafa. Then, with the first rays of the sun, my heart started to beat rapidly when we set off towards the ancient city of Ephesus, which made me feel its historical spirit. The magnificence and splendor of Ephesus, combined with the stories flowing from its stones, made me feel like I was on a journey through time. The fascinating Library of Celsius, the magnificent Temple of Artemis and the theater that can accommodate 15,000 people were among the magnificent structures that accompanied our journey into the depths of the past. Thanks to the narrations of our guide, we were able to witness the vivid details of the ancient period. During the tour, we also enjoyed the rich cuisine of the region. A lunch of local delicacies made our historical discovery even more unforgettable. Our guide pointed out that Ephesus is not limited to its famous buildings and took us to hidden corners to discover unknown stories. In these corners, full of interesting details about the daily life of the people, we became even more closely connected to the colorful world of antiquity. I had one of the best moments of my holiday with the Ephesus tour from Bodrum! It was a fantastic experience. Before the tour, our guide, Mr. Aaron, gave us information full of historical and cultural details, thus further increasing our interest in the Ancient City of Ephesus. Then we had Breakfast near Lake Bafa and enjoyed the unique Turkish Breakfast in this beautiful view. Our first stop, the Ancient City of Ephesus, welcomed me in a fascinating atmosphere. I felt as if I had traveled through the dusty pages of history. Our guide vividly told the background stories of the ancient ruins, allowing me to imagine what kind of civilization this place was. Seeing unique structures such as the Celsus Library, the Temple of Artemis, and the Great Theater reinforced the feeling of being intertwined with history. Another great experience on the Ephesus tour was visiting the House of the Virgin Mary. This holy place had a mystical atmosphere that created a sense of peace and serenity. I had a genuinely spiritual experience while I was there. Then, we were taken to an authentic Turkish restaurant for a nice lunch. Here, we enjoyed delicious local food and experienced traditional Turkish hospitality. Since we had free time after the meal, we walked in the narrow streets and had the opportunity to see handmade carpets and examine how they were made. We even bought one on the carpet. Everyone should have one of these beautiful works. We had a fun day without getting bored, thanks to our guide's narrations and the activities he organized throughout the tour. Thanks to this tour, where every detail was carefully considered, I had a pleasant journey from Bodrum to Ephesus, and my interest in Turkey's history increased even more. Undoubtedly one of the best experiences we had in Turkey. The ride was very pleasant and not at all long nor dull , you pass trough an area full of history and beautiful scenery , the Aegean coastline and a very interesting lake. Our gide vas very knowledgeable about all the sites we visited . The visit to Ephesus alone is worth the trip , but the tour wasalso a very surprising personal experience , because Harun is a great human being , he not only took us for lunch to the best seafood restaurant in Kusadasi , gorgeous view , he took us to a couple of shops that were nice to visit where we made some worthwhile buys . Didn’t start well in that the driver was 30 mins late as they had difficulty locating our Hotel. An hour down the road and we had a mechanical issue with the car. An hour later we took off in a new car with our guide and new driver. As we were now 90 mins behind schedule our first stop was lunch which was good. Our guide was very knowledgeable with the sites of Ephesus. Stunning, historic and well worth the visit. At the end, our guide left us there with the driver for the 3 hour trip back to our Bodrum Hotel. This driver could not find the hotel either so we left him and walked the remaining kilometre along the beachfront back to the hotel. For the money you spend for a trip like this, I would have expected a better experience however glad that we were able to visit Ephesus, an absolute must for anyone interested in history.

There is no intention in the events that happened. It's my 38th year in tourism, and I can tell you. Sometimes when you start the day with a problem, problems come one after another. Our vehicle and guide arrived at your hotel 30 minutes late, and I apologized to you that day. Even though we had guests at that hotel before, there was also GPRS in the vehicle; my guide and my vehicle were late because there was no signpost on the road in that area, because of the intense construction and work, and because GPRS could not find a pinpoint. The guide called your hotel and asked for location information, and they found the hotel by GPRS redirecting. The vehicle on the way back is a vehicle belonging to Bodrum, a captain who knows the region well but could not find your hotel even though we gave him directions. Please do not look for fault in us, GPRS, or the driver. Because the roads are awful and broken, vehicle breakdowns occurred. Moreover, our vehicle broke down at the stopover, you immediately began in the middle of the road. Who wants his vehicle to break down and guests to be stranded? As a result, our vehicle is broken; please do not look for an intention or mistake. Moreover, our vehicles undergo regular monthly maintenance and are disinfected after changing brakes, linings, air conditioners, oil, and filters. But I assure you I will no longer accept tour bookings from this hotel. I should have canceled your tour when the vehicle broke down. I was going to send you the minibus from Bodrum or Kusadasi; arriving at your location would take at least one and a half hours. One of your days would be wasted. Mr.Trover, We were lucky in two respects. First, your car breaks down while taking a break by the lake, and second, I sent you one of the best guides in the region. Using his practical intelligence and experience, your guide brought the vehicle to you from the nearest city within 30 minutes. There was a maximum wait of 1 hour with the break. If he had requested the vehicle from Bodrum or Kusadasi, your waiting time would have been at least one and a half hours. I appreciate your guidance. Your guide's house is near Ephesus, and it doesn't make sense to take you to Bodrum. After leaving you in Bodrum, there was no chance of returning home at 10:00-11:00 p.m. That's why he didn't go to Bodrum with you. If you remember, when the vehicle broke down, another car arrived. The new vehicle would stay in Bodrum after leaving you at the hotel. Also, Your guide thought the driver would need help finding the hotel. He explained the location of your hotel to the driver; Then you told to guide: " I have GPRS, I can follow the road from my phone, I can help him; if He can not find it, we will get off by the seaside, we may walk to the hotel." When the tour was over, your guide asked for permission to leave; He said, "The tour is over; the driver will drop you off at your hotel." Also, it would be helpful to point out that your guide is not obliged to come with you to Bodrum at the end of the tour. Mr.Trover, don't blame us for all the troubles caused by the location of your hotel, the holes in the roads, and the absence of GPRS and direction signs. I wish you a good holiday. A very interesting trip. We were picked up from our hotel and travelled by car to Ephesus. Throughout the approximately 2hr journey our guide, Faizullah, gave us information about the area, its long history over centuries and details about Ephesus itself. His love and enthusiasm for history was very evident throughout. Ephesus itself is quite spectacular. I have visited Pompeii before and I can confidently say that Ephesus compares favourably. Faizullah was very insightful with the details about the Roman period. Faizullah was also able to recommenda lovelylocal restaurantwhere we tried some very tasty Gozleme. The only reason I have given this a 4 star is that there appear to be stops at various local handicraft stores - ceramics, textiles and jewellery, and leather - which are not on the advertised itenary. Whilst they are interesting too, I think it should be more clearly advertised on the itenary. Having said that, I was able to refuse the last stop at the leather factory as we were all very tired by that stage. I want to say one final word about our driver. It was a very long day for him. I felt that he drove really smoothly throughout and was very courteous.
I cannot tell you what an amazing guide Yeliz is and the driver we had too was amazing. Yeliz was incredibly knowledgeable, spoke perfect english, was very charismatic. Honestly she became like our best friend. We wanted to take her back home with us she became like a sister to us. BEST BEST BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! was the highlight of our entire Turkey trip
