Itinerary
Departure from the Izmir city center area.
Ephesus is an ancient Greek and Roman city located near modern-day Selçuk in Turkey. It was one of the most important cities of the ancient world, famous for the Temple of Artemis — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World — as well as its grand theater, Celsus Library, and well-preserved streets and houses.
The House of the Virgin Mary in Selçuk is a sacred Christian site believed to be the final home of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. It is a peaceful stone house on Mount Koressos, visited by both Christians and Muslims for prayer and pilgrimage. If desired, this visit can be canceled during the tour.
The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was a grand sanctuary dedicated to the Greek goddess Artemis. Situated in Ephesus, it was famous for its impressive size and elegant marble design. Although only fragments remain today, the temple once showcased majestic columns and detailed sculptures, symbolizing the artistic and architectural mastery of the ancient era.

We were very pleased with the private tour as we wanted to do just the tour of Ephesus, with no other sites, nor shopping or lunch. All of the group tours included all the extras, so the private option was the way to go. Our guide Mamet, was very knowledgeable and engaging and made the 2+ hrs we spent with him very enjoyable. Having grown up in the area, he made it personable.
