Our private tour of Berchtesgaden & the Eagle’s Nest was phenomenal. It’s the best tour & was the highlight of our trip to Europe. Patrick was our guide & he was hands down the best tour guide we’ve ever had. We learned so much from Patrick & he was so easy & fun to be with. Thank you so much Patrick!
Patrick was a very knowledgeable and pleasant guide . We spent sufficient time at all the stops, nothing was rushed.
What an amazing tour. The views from the Eagles Nest were spectacular. Spend some time in the Documentation Center going through the bunkers. Manfred was an incredible guide. He was very knowledgeable and guided through some extra places. Highly recommend. Eat lunch on the terrace of the Hotel Edelweiss if you can.
We had an incredible time on the Private Eagle’s Nest and Berchtesgaden tour with Manfred. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised, informative, and enjoyable. Manfred was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area and its history, which made the tour even more memorable. Thank you so much for yesterday’s Private Eagle’s Nest and Berchtesgaden tour. Adding the Sound of Music stop-offs was such a great touch and made the experience even more special. It really personalised the day and gave us the chance to see even more of the beautiful Salzburg region. The luxury transport was very comfortable, and we truly appreciated the attention to detail throughout the day. We would highly recommend Manfred to anyone visiting Salzburg and looking for a private, personalised experience.
2 couples from America. This tour exceeded all our expectations. Every single detail was planned and executed perfectly. Patrick, our guide, was personable, knowledgeable and engaged. His energy and enthusiasm to share history with us made our trip even more memorable. Can’t recommend this tour and Patrick enough!
Great experience-well worth the cost. We were a group of four adults. Patrick our guide was amazing and shared so much more information than we would have been able to find on our own. He had photos and additional information on an iPad as well that was helpful for perspective comparing the current appearance and layout of certain areas/sights to historical pictures and information. He made reservations in advance for our Eagle’s Nest tour and lunch and the activities were well timed to balance a reasonable amount of depth with covering a lot. It was foggy at the summit at Eagle’s Nest so no views from the top but that did detract from the day-this was a great experience and we would highly recommend.
Patrick was wonderful! He was very informed and provided a detailed overview of the area. He was helpful and gave great recommendations during our tour as well as other parts of our trip. 10/10 recommendations for this tour and Patrick!
This was an outstanding full day tour with Patrick. We were able to stop at some other areas of interest and stay on time and see all that we wanted. We highly recommend Viator and Patrick on any tour that interests you. Thank you Patrick for closing out this Bucket List trip!
Believe it or not, Adolf Hitler conducted much of WW 2 from his residence in the Alps called the Berghof. Allied bombers and later Austrian authorities destroyed the Berghof so it wouldn't become a shrine, but remnants of the building remain . The mountaintop building , "The Eagle's Nest," favorite place of Eva Braun, Hitler's girlfriend, it entirely INTACT and worth a visit via Nazi built tunnels and an elevator. The highlight of the trip, from a historical perspective is the Documentation Center ofcObersalzburg. The Germans don't try to sugarcoat the horrors of WW2 and the Holocaust, to their credit. You can take a shortened version of the visit to the Center (40 minute audio tour) or the longer, more complete version. If you're interested in History, I RECOMMEND THE LONGER VERSION.
Incredible experience. Lena, our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was able to add a lot of depth to the places we saw on the trip. Although this tour was geared towards WW2, she did take the time to add a couple of stops related to The Sound of Music. I would absolutely recommend this tour.
