A visit to Popeye Village, which was the original film set of the musical production Popeye is surely a must on your what to do list in Malta. This is a great place to take your kids to meet world famous cartoon characters. Popeye village is situated just off Mellieha Bay, so its an excellent place to visit before, after, or whilst spending the day at the numerous beaches and coves around the area or just next door at the enclosed Anchor Bay which is equipped with sun beds, umbrellas, showers, bathing areas, splash pools and a small kids area.
What you can find at the Crafts in Ta' Qali The crafts village in Ta’ Qali is located in the former RAF wartime air-field and is a very popular tourist attraction in Malta. Here, different kinds of crafts and beautiful artefacts are sold created by local experts. You can watch the craftsmen blowing and forming glass, visit the goldsmiths filigree and beautiful jewellery and have a look at the beautiful sculptures and lace.
The history of Mdina traces back more than 4000 years. According to tradition it was here that in 60 A.D. that the Apostle St. Paul is said to have lived after being shipwrecked on the Islands. Furthermore it is said that St. Paul resided inside the grotto know as Fuori le Mura (outside the city walls) now known as St. Paul's Grotto in Rabat. Lamp lit by night and referred to as "the silent city", Mdina is fascinating to visit for its timeless atmosphere as well as its cultural and religious treasures.
The Malta National Aquarium project is spread over approximately 20,000 square meters and comprises a public aquarium, a public landscaped belvedere at promenade level, a multi storey car park, facilities for local dive schools, catering facilities including a beach club, a merchandise outlet and a tourist information kiosk. The public aquarium has 41 tanks including reptiles, insects and amphibians, amongst others, Mediterranean fish, including fish commonly found in Maltese waters together with replicas of historical artefacts that one can find in the seas around the Maltese islands. The main tank of the aquarium houses species from the Indian Ocean, including eight black tip sharks, horn sharks, rays, eels and other exotic species. The main tank is approximately 12 meters in diameter and has a walk-through tunnel that allows visitors to experience the fish at a much closer range. All tanks are expertly themed to replicate the underwater environment.
The Blue Grotto is located on the southern coast of Malta, west of Wied iz-Zurrieq facing the little deserted islet of Filfla. The site got its name from a British soldier who thought that since the area looks like the Grotta Azzurra in Capri, it deserves the same name, and in fact Blue Grotto is the equivalent for Grotta Azzurra in English. The site is extremely popular, attracting some 100,000 tourists per year, also for diving purposes. The site also features in the film Troy (2004) starring Brad Pitt. The location of this fascinating natural grotto combines with sunlight and the surrounding chain of caves to reflect the phosphorescent colours of the submerged flora and the deep dark shade of blue of the sea.
St Peter's Pool is a fantastic swimming spot, a natural lido in the rocks with large areas of flat slab for sunbathing between swims. Follow the narrow road out towards Delimara Lighthouse until you are just past the power station chimney (about 1.5km from the main road), and you'll see a low building on the left with 'St Peter's Pool' signposted on it.
The Valletta Waterfront, is a promenade in Floriana, Malta, mainly featuring three prominent buildings: a church in the middle, the Pinto Stores or the Pinto Wharf on the left, and the Forni Stores or the Forni Shopping Complex on the right. The buildings were originally stores and warehouses, built in the 18th century, and the design is attributed to Andrea Belli. The building project was officiated on August 10, 1752, with a mass festivity. The Forni Stores were used as the first British naval bakeries in Malta and were used for this function until 1844. The area is now a hub in Malta's cruise liner business as the Forni Cruise Passenger Terminal, and hosts a concentration of bars, retail outlets, and restaurants. The area was and remains a venue for several concerts and events.

Beautiful island!! Kenneth knew exactly where to take us to maximize our time visiting several places on Malta. There was so much history there that we were totally unaware of it. The big monolithic stones similar down hinge. A wonderful restaurant/café with incredible views of the whole island. He also had an iPad with information on all the sides. That was very, very helpful. Highly recommend!
Kenneth was our driver and tour guide. He showed up on time and was very accommodating and patient with our wacky group. He took us to some really beautiful areas to offered to take our group picture in some occasions. Thank you Kenneth for a really wonderful tour of Malta!
Roaming Malta with Kenneth has proved to be the best decision to explore this magnificent and full of history place. He was waiting for us at the cruise terminal. Car was very comfortable and clean. He took us to the Popeye’s Village per my request and waited for us while we visited this well kept movie set. After, we roamed the island with him providing information about everything we saw and multiple stops made for photos and to admire the views. Lunch was at The Cliffs where food was delicious. He even got strawberries for us to try and they were juicy and very sweet (thanks Kenneth!!). The road trip ended not before roaming through Valletta’s colorful streets and on time at the cruise terminal. I do definitely recommend this tour and if Kenneth is your driver you’ll be in for a great adventure.
Simon did us proud. On time, great communication, flexible itinerary. We even showed him something that he never had visited...... we do have some weird requests though.
The car picked up us on time. The car was quite clean and the car driver was very friendly, helpful and cooperative. He gave us valuable advice and recommendations which helped us better plan the routes. We were very happy to efficiently have completed an extensive tour in the Island Malta within 4 hours.
Kenneth was awesome. Very flexible on our itinerary for the day. And he suggested a restaurant at Dingli Cliffs (called The Cliffs) that was delicious. Kenneth is friendly and professional and a safe driver who got us through our intended itinerary capably.
We had a wonderful time with our driver Justin. He took us to the city of Medina which was beautiful. We saw the blue grotto,POPEYE village and so many other great stopes!
