Your pick-up will be from Katakolon Port or directly from your hotel reception. The drive to Olympia takes about 45 minutes.
You will have approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes of free time to spend in Olympia. During your visit to Ancient Olympia, you can explore the site of the first Olympic Games and the Museum of Ancient Olympia, where you can admire a remarkable collection of ancient artifacts (an extra charge of €180 applies for a guided tour. The guide must be requested at the time of booking and is subject to availability). Alternatively, you may explore the modern town of Olympia, where you can browse traditional souvenir shops, relax at one of the local cafés, or enjoy authentic Mediterranean cuisine in one of the charming tavernas.
At the agreed time, meet your driver at the designated point in Olympia for your return journey. Your driver will ensure a safe drop-off either at Katakolon Port, close to your ship, or at the reception of your hotel.

We contacted Francesco to book transportation from the port to the archaeological site (about 30 minutes away). George guided us on-site and provided us with the main information about Olympia during the trip. We paid €15 per adult and €10 for children. 15€/person from Katakolon To Olympia and back, in time to came back to the cruise. We payd 5€ for the guide and he was very exaustive (he even told us where to eat at low prices). Giorgio is a very intresting guide.

The tour was very informative and organized. But the time we had on the site without the commute was only not enough- only 2 hours 15 minutes. We followed the tour guide for about an hour and then we got free time for around 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's not enough to see both the museum and the archeological site. I wish it was clearly communicated to us beforehand. Apart from that we enjoyed it. There was a photo with the flame arranged by the tour guide at the end.

We would like to clarify that your booking was for the special offer shore excursion (up to 3.5 hours including transportation at €15 per person), and not for the “Private Driver from Katakolon to Ancient Olympia (Self-Guided)” tour, which normally lasts around 5 hours. We do agree that the available free time may not have been enough to fully enjoy both the archaeological site and the museum, and we apologize that this was not clearly communicated in advance.
