This weekend was part of the 250th madness going on. We pivoted to visiting Arlington Cemetery in the am and it was impressive. Alan is incredibly knowledgeable and history is his passion. From there we went to the Smithsonian Air and Space Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (on my bucket list) and went through every plane and space craft there. Highly recommend.
Our Indiana family had an outstanding 5-star experience touring Washington, DC with Alan. From the moment we met him, his passion for DC history and deep knowledge of the city made the tour both educational and engaging. Alan drove us around town, taking us to iconic landmarks including the Capitol Building, the National Mall, and Arlington National Cemetery. He shared fascinating stories and historical insights that brought each location to life. His professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made the day enjoyable for everyone. This was truly an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend Alan to anyone visiting Washington, DC.
Alan was very friendly and knowledgeable! He made the tour fun for my kids (9yo and 12yo) and kept me from having to explain everything. Would highly recommend him to anyone with a family!
Alan is a fabulous tour guide with a huge knowledge of Washington history. We were a family of nine. Grandparents, parents, four young men and me, auntie. This review was written by the parents. “We booked two full day tours with Alan and had a great time. Our group ranged in age from 10 to 70 and everyone was engaged and entertained. Alan is very knowledgeable and his love of history shines through in all his conversations. He was able to point out interesting facts and keep us on our toes watching for Easter eggs along the way. He even had a knack for asking the Park guides leading questions when they skipped over an important detail. He was able to accommodate the various needs of our party while still keeping the tour on schedule. I warmly recommend him to you and trust that you will be more than pleased that you booked a tour with him.
Tour guide was knowledgeable, not sure it was worth the cost. I would recommend a cheaper tour and seeing the city and sights then going where you want. We parked father away, would have been better getting dropped off and not wasting so much time walking to and from the car. Nice gentleman but I probably would not book or recommend.
While we are disappointed to read this review, we spoke on the phone and created an Itinerary based on what you wished to see. Yes, parking is an issue in Washington, D.C. but never did we park extremely far from any venue. As a matter of fact with regard to the National Archives, the car was retrieved and picked you up. We are sorry the tour did not meet your expectations.
Our experience with Alan was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. What impressed us immediately was that he contacted us before our trip to introduce himself and take the time to learn about our interests, preferences, and the places we most wanted to visit. That personal touch made us feel valued and ensured our tour was tailored specifically to us. Alan’s knowledge of history is truly remarkable. He doesn’t just share facts—he brings history to life in a way that is both fascinating and memorable. His storytelling made every site we visited more meaningful, and he has a wonderful talent for making complex historical information engaging and easy to remember. Beyond his expertise, Alan has a great sense of humor and kept us laughing throughout the trip. He was always attentive to our needs, flexible when necessary, and genuinely focused on making sure we had the best possible experience. One of the highlights of our trip was a fantastic Italian restaurant that Alan recommended. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff treated us so warmly that it became one of our favorite dining experiences of the entire trip. We could not be happier with the service Alan provided. His professionalism, knowledge, personality, and attention to detail made our trip unforgettable. We will absolutely seek him out again when we return, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for an exceptional private guide. Thank you, Alan, for helping create such wonderful memories!

After returning from our week in Washington DC, I asked my family (daughter, son-in-law, and college junior granddaughter) "What was the best part of our trip?" The response was "Our day with Alan!" On May 18th, Alan picked us up for the start of an awesome experience. Alan, a self -described history nut, kept us informed and entertained with his knowledge of history of DC and the places we visited. He was engaging and stimulated us with mini quizzes and tidbits. He brought us to places we would not have found on our own. He accommodated our needs as we went through the day which had record heat and humidity (Tucson was actually cooler!) Our day ended with an evening walk on the Mall to see the Lincoln Memorial, the Wall and the Nurse's Memorial in the twilight. What an experience! Thank you Alan! Tillema/Ver Burg Family, Tucson, AZ
We could not have had a better experience! Our guide Alan went ABOVE and BEYOND for my family. I loved that he contacted us prior to our trip to get to know us and our needs...and boy do we have needs! I brought my parents to DC so that my father could visit the Vietnam Wall to say goodbye to those he lost. Both of my parents have very limited mobility, and to say that getting them to and from where we were going was difficult would be an understatement. Alan was patient, accommodating, and understanding. He is also VERY knowledgeable about the area and historically accurate. I will be forever grateful to Alan for giving my dad such a great experience. If you are planning to visit DC, you will not be disappointed booking a tour with Alan ~Kelly Biondo Casco, Michigan
