Once you disembark your cruise ship, leave the international cruise port of Costa Maya, to the parking lot and walk 2 blocks to the Mayan pyramid is. It can be a bit difficult to find your way out of the port, this is because it is a private company and they want you to stay inside.

We had an amazing experience. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The hospitality and care for us was personal and thoughtful. This location is such a gem. Our kids enjoyed hanging on the beach and exploring the waters. We have visited many locations in MX over the years, but this excursion tops them all. We would highly recommend. After a 30-minute car ride, we arrived at the resort and were immediately greeted and welcomed. We were given a brief tour of the premises, then free to explore and enjoy. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and courteous. Our drinks were always full, and the food (guacamole, shrimp ceviche, steak tacos) was amazing! Once we got past the seaweed at the shore, the water was pristine! Beautiful sandy beach and lounge chairs available. We will definitely return to this resort if we make it back to Costa Maya!!!!
Once out of cruise port, it was very easy to find the meeting location. We were the only ones at the beach that day. Teresa was amazing - and made us the best meal on our trip! Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the water as much as we would have liked because there was a lot of sargasso on shore and in water (the only reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5).

Even though I just needed 1 day pass, Viator made me purchase 2. For that reason, I don't think the experience was worth the price I paid. Had I just bought 1 ticket, the price is probably a good value. I had a little difficulty finding the driver, so I wish the directions would have been more explicit. When I left the boat, it took me 15 minutes at a brisk peace to find my way out of the port shops to the Mayan pyramid. The port is designed to be a maze that keeps you in the shopping district. I just kept asking directions to the parking lot, and helpful storekeepers pointed me on my way. When I left the gates of the parking lot, I kept walking straight to the pyramid. The ride service was to the right rear of the pyramid, and my name was written on a white board in front of the pavilion. The driver came quickly and the ride was about 30 minutes. The location is remote, but beautiful. Even if there was a lot of sargassum on the shore, this location is about natural surroundings and quiet enjoyment. No inflatables, rowdy crowds, or big menus. The guacamole, shrimp ceviche, and pork tacos were divine, as was the fresh pina colada. I had the best mango of my life here! Everyone was kind and solicitous. The reason for 4 stars is the price and seaweed.
This was an unexpected perfect day!!! We happen to have the entire beach to ourselves and the hospitality and beach were perfect!
We had a wonderful time. Beach is so nice and peaceful. Snokling is great! The people are amazing and friendly! Food is the best I've had in Mexico! It's so fresh and you can taste it! The beach pups, Canello and Tìga are so sweet and polite. 1000/10⭐
It’s fantastic! Don’t freak out by the drive to seemingly, nowhere! Once you’re there it’s simply paradise. Teresa is lovely! We had the entire place to ourselves for the day! The walk from the boat to the pick up is a bit long but you go past the main entrance and the driver is there. Give yourself about 30 minutes from the boat to the pick up.
Nice quiet beach. Food was great and staff was very friendly. If want a place to relax this is it. Would definitely go back.
Was really great! It was Shelly in water def needed shoes. Yes water wasn't clear at beach front but to be expected this time of year! Could go out 15' and get clear water or go to reef. Host was fantastic. Def be back. And can rent huts for over night stays. We've been around world and didn't disappoint. Food was amazing as well!
It was a wonderful totally relaxed day at the private beach. In addition to us, a permanent camper from Switzerland and a Mexican family were present. Theresa, the landlady, was lovely and spoiled us according to line and thread. There were huge daiquiries and delicious Mexican food. The meeting point in Mahahual was easy to find, the reception there very friendly and the taxi driver picked us up again on time. This day was an absolute highlight of our cruise.
