Itinerary

Admission included120 min

This tour takes us to the Altun Ha Mayan Ruin! You'll get to walk down the same path the Mayas did while learning about their customs. The best photo opportunities on this tour come after hiking to the tops of the highest structures where the Mayan elite once occupied. The view from atop is beautiful and offers a panoramic view of this Mayan site as well as the surrounding pristine jungle.

Admission included90 min

This tour also takes us to the Black Howler Monkey Sanctuary. The areas here are perfect photo opportunities to spot monkeys in the trees and also an opportunity to hear the calling to each other. The hike goes through the trails where these monkeys are most likely to be found, happy and in their natural habitat.

Pickup Locations & Times

Our departure points are usually from the San Pedro Belize Express for our clients coming from Caye Caulker and San Pedro, or from Terminal 1 at the cruise ship dock for our cruise ship clients. If you need us to pick you up from a specific hotel, let us know via email and we’d be glad to accommodate your needs. We can do pickups anywhere in Belize City. Guests on San Pedro, Caye Caulker, St. George's Caye and other islands would need to come in to Belize City to be picked up. Our tours usually leave at 9:00 AM CST, but if you’d like to leave earlier, let us know. We do not offer pickups at Harvest Caye for cruise passengers coming on Norwegian Cruise Line ships as it is a private island owned by that company and most local operators are unable to offer tours there.

Jose and crew know Belize...

Jose and crew know Belize and are amazing for your local trips. Our guide took care of our needs which included giving the little ones their first experience to Mayan ruins.

Not as promised.

I would not book through here for this experience again. When we arrived in Belize via our cruise ship, our tour guide did not answer the phone from the repeated calls of the tourism guide in Belize. When we finally did get ahold of him, he contracted out our tour to a local taxi company, which means we did not have A/C or bottled water or a lunch as included in the booked experience. While I appreciated the local taxi service doing their best and the tourism guide for assisting and for the company for attempting to make this right, this did not match what we were promised.

Not worth it

Unfortunately, we only spent 20 minutes at the howler monkey sanctuary. It was really disappointing for the price, especially when the sanctuary’s website has it listed 45min-1hr for $10

Monkey, Mayans, and Lunch.

First we went to the Howler Monkey Sanctuary with a local guide that will answer all your questions about local plants and the monkeys and then Jose teaches you all about the Mayan ruins. He also manages to expertly avoid the crowds.
