The Museum of Alexandria Arriving in Alexandria you start your tour with a visit to the museum of Alexandria. Considered one of Egypt’s finest museum, the Alexandria National Museum is located in a restored palace and contains about 1,800 artifacts that narrate the history of Alexandria throughout the ages, including the Pharaonic, Roman, Coptic and Islamic eras.
Your trip continues on to explore the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa; the necropolis of 3 sub-levels dating from the 2nd century AD merges aspects of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman culture in its features. Visit the Roman triclinium – a banquet hall to honor the dead, as well as statues, reliefs, and a pillared lobby featuring depictions of Egyptian gods in Roman armor
Lunch Enjoy lunch at the Mediterranean seafront in one of the popular Alexandrian seafood restaurants
After lunch you stop at the library of Alexandria. The Alexandria Bibliotheca, is built on the site of the famous ancient library and is home to 8 million books.
Concluding the tour is a visit to the 15th century Qaitbay Citadel, built upon the ruins of the ancient Alexandria Lighthouse, one of the 7 wonders of the world.
