Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle in the world. It is perhaps the most important landmark in the magnificent city of Prague and dominates the city's skyline. Since the 9th century, the Prague Castle has been the seat of Czech kings and emperors. Nowadays, the Prague Castle is the seat of Czech president.

Pass by

St. Vitus Cathedral is the largest and the most important temple in Prague. Apart from religious services, coronations of Czech kings and queens also took place here. The cathedral is a place of burial of several patron saints and kings.

The Old Royal Palace is a former seat of Czech rulers. The palace is a mix of many architectural styles, particularly Gothic and Renaissance (admission not included).

Golden Lane sits adjacent to the Prague Castle and consists of an assortment of small, brightly painted houses. These houses used to host historical figures, like Franz Kafka (admission is not included)

The Prague Castle was built on a hill. This area is nowadays called Hradchin (Hradcany) and provides great views of the city.

Banks of Kampa Island are washed by water of Vltava river on the one side and on the other one by the Devil's Stream which was created in the 12th century as a millrace. it is an amazing place to take awesome pictures of the Charles Bridge, the Vltava river and Prague historical center.

Prague Castle

Linda gave a thorough and engaging tour of Prague and Prague Castle. Her knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm were outstanding. She brought history to life in a simple, lively, and memorable way. We especially appreciated her deep understanding of the local history and her ability to explain it so clearly and accessibly. Linda’s English was excellent and very easy to understand.
