Itinerary
The Botanic Garden, formally known as Sir Seewoosagur Botanic Garden, is one of the most visited attractions in Mauritius. The garden is located in the proximity of Port-Louis, in the district of Pamplemousses. The botanical garden was initially opened as a private garden by the French governor of Mauritius nearly 300 years ago, later to become the National Botanical Garden of Mauritius. The botanical garden stretches over endless acres of land and it may take you more than a week to cover the whole garden. It is populated with more than 650 varieties of plants among which are the famous Baobabs, the Palmier Bouteille, the ineluctable Giant Water Lilies, dozens of medicinal plants, a large spice garden and many more. One of the main attractions of the botanical garden is the 85 different varieties of palm trees brought from different corners of the world. Other indigenous species of plants are also exhibited here.
Port Louis, the cosmopolitan capital city of Mauritius was founded in 1735 by the French governor and pioneer Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais. Located on the Northwest Coast, Port Louis is the administrative and business capital of the island. Buzzing with activity during the day, the city is full of cultural and historical treasures that should not be missed. Beyond the central market, which is a focal point for those who want to feel close to the soul of Mauritius, are many historic sites including the Champ de Mars - the oldest race course in the southern hemisphere.
Not available on Saturday after 12h00 a.m, on Sundays and on Public Holidays. The Historical Citadel Fort is located about 100 meters high on the hill of Petite Montague, and has become one of Mauritius historical attractions. The Fort, which is also knowned as the Adelaide Fort (named after the wife of William II, when the British held land in Port Louis), offers stunning views of the entire city of Port Louis as well at the harbour. The Fort was constructed in the early 19th century by Colonel Cunningham as an attempt to protect the British Army from the enemy. It is constructed in a Moorish style, complete with horse shoe arches. The fort has been constructed using large rectangular blocks. The Fort has now been converted into a National Monument and is surrounded by the Caudan Water Front and the vast Indian Ocean.

We spent our holiday as a family of five at the Beachcomber Cannoniere Mauritius. We booked for this excursion Rajesh Seewoopaul Rajesh.991@hotmail.com Spoke a great English, very informative. Took time for everything, knew the best places to exchange money. The family felt well looked after around. The car was very comfortable and space adequate for us as well. DANKE RAJESH!!!!
Good tour , made great by our guide/driver veet , who was very new to role but took us to extra sites . Poor fella had an accident , which was not his fault , on way back , which meant we didn’t get back until much later than planned . Just hope he gets it all sorted
The Botanical Garden was a super experience, highly recommended to stay 2 hours at least. Unfortunately Fort Adelaide was closed due to a public holiday as well es the Blue Penny Museum. Our Guide, Hansley brought us to a tea museum which was not on the program and was really interesting.
Dear Client, Good morning from Sega Tours. Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, we are grateful. We are glad to hear that you had a great experience at the Botanical Garden! It's unfortunate that Fort Adelaide and the Blue Penny Museum were closed due to the public holiday, but it sounds like your guide, Hansley, made the most of the situation by taking you to the tea museum, which turned out to be an unexpected but interesting addition to your visit. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope you'll have the opportunity to explore the other attractions next time! Thank you for choosing us for your adventure and we hope to welcome you back again soon. Sending you our best regards.
Driver was on time and very friend. Car was clean inside and out. The driver was very knowledgeable about his local area and the country he lives in.

Thank you for choosing us for your transportation needs, and we hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Sending you our best regards.
This tour was OK. I would have liked a slower walk-through umbrella sq and Port Louis so I could take pictures. Markets were interesting. Recommend paying the extra to have a tour guide in the botanical gardens. Lunch was ok. 'Pin Location' means 'address' not that the tour guide used it.
Kunal looked after us very well! We had a great time, thank you for a unforgettable day! Lunch was out of this world as well!
Dear Client, Good morning from Sega Tours. Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your North Day Tour. Thank you for your kind words for Kunal, we shall pass on the message to him. We wish you a pleasant stay in Mauritius. Best regards,
Fantastic day sightseeing, our driver and guide, Vinoo, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went above and beyond to ensure that we got the most out of the day and couldn’t recommend him highly enough! He showed us around the capital, and allowed us time to do some shopping in the local and craft markets. The views from Fort Adelaide were breathtaking across the capital towards the Indian Ocean. The Botanical Gardens were very pretty with the added bonus of giant tortoises. We also had the lunch option which was delicious.
We didn't do this full day tour but we went to the Botanical Gardens at Pamplemousses on our own. Very disappointing I'm afraid. A general down at heel feel to the place. Plants and trees either not labelled or inadequately. The fine colonial house is closed and there are no proper facilities for visitors. Even the tortoises look depressed and kept in poor conditions compared to the La Vanille reserve in the south of the island.
Nawfal was an excellent and helpful guide and we really enjoyed the excursion, would highly recommend!
A morning to see a small part of the island . The Botanical gardens were good to see and worth getting a guide otherwise you would miss too much . We then went onto visit the Port Louis - the fort , local market and waterfront . Our guide was informative and friendly .
Thank You for your feedback. Looking forward to welcoming you again.
